  1. My trip had been timed to coincide with Children's Day on 14th and the Food Festival on 16th November. Shahina aspires to become a politician and from everything I see she certainly has the chops for it. For the Food Festival she has managed to secure the support of Abdul Mannan, Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. There is an awards ceremony, at which he and I give out little trophies to the Food Festival chefs, and the trainee taxi drivers. The Roshni Theatre Group becomes the Roshni Dance Group. And after the heavyweights have gone,I become a Happy Fool, one minute wearing the women's hijab, symbol of confinement and oppression; and the next serenading the ladies with my rendering of an old Bengali love song. Then I really get it going with John Denver and Joni Mitchell! Be afraid...
  2. Well I should hope not! What kind of a world would we be living in if people always stood by their word? As a lawyer it would be silly of me not to post a disclaimer when discussing legal issues given the complexities involved. And thank God for it. Are you upset with me for some reason? Absolutely not. I agree with your analysis, and was riffing on it. Ok. Cool I may have had too much eggnog though!

  5. Here is an announcement from Flex Radio, hot off the teleprinter. In view of all the money that has come in for Roshni from sales and -ah - impromptu donations such as ComCav's I've now decided to keep the whole wad for myself to buy a really nice comic book. I mean, guys, come on! You cant expect me to give all this money to a bunch of skinny foreign kids who don't even speak English, and will probably die young in most cases anyway, when I could use it to buy myself a really good book others will envy and take to my grave?

  7. i know enough to conclude i won't buy from him or sell to him, and if not for the fact i like being able to say mitch is the only boardie i've ever put on ignore, i'd put him on ignore. With great respect to all the boardies who made comments here, among you beloved friends, Billy's comments are the ones that hit the mark most clearly and unambiguously for me. Keep going like this my boy, and one day you could be a lawyer! I'm sure his firm hopes so, too. Well I never said he was firm. Toned, maybe.

  9. He's a monster. Don't look directly in his eyes or you'll be lucky to escape with the clothes on your back. I can verify that his monster gaze is not phased by oceans in between.
