  1. They remade the remake as well! I loved them all. But the first had Howard Hawks all over it, even if Christian Nyby was credited with the direction, and the quickfire dialogue was outstanding. http://www.tcm.com/this-month/article/939322%7C0/Cult-Movie-Picks-for-January.html
  2. wow...way nicer than mine... Hmmm...kinda like my ex-wife... Why did she divorce you?
  3. Creepy! Who goes there Right, Jack. I love the first movie adaptation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Goes_There%3F
  4. In November, I return to them. Purnabha, Lucina and I will travel - north to the mountains of Darjeeling and Shillong to meet people combating child trafficking; south to the Sundarbans and the Bay of Bengal, where other people fight a different battle, against the sea's erosion of the shore, against the loss of a homeland and all that goes with it. We will investigate and honestly evaluate, to see if what we have modeled with Roshni can be modeled elsewhere. If so, our next step will be to establish a new NGO with that role in mind. not just to help one Roshni, but many, to provide support and infrastructure to as many Roshnis as we can.
  5. In a recent thank you note to a key donor Shahina had this to say: “R****, first of all thanks a lot for your kind support to the very poor, disgraced and needy community who have hardly has any respect for themselves as women (all of them are Muslim by faith). You probably don’t know that many of them die in their 10ft by 8 ft room before creating their own identity as a family member, mother, sister, wife, a Muslim, an Indian or anything. You also have any idea that that they live their whole life without getting proper food, nutrition, legal aid, education, or health services. They die asking for help when they are bitten by their family members (husband, son or father) but no one comes forward from the very next room to help them. They even die or become physically challenged as a consequence of the domestic violence but they have no aid to even support their right. "In Rajabazar or alike Muslim communities here in West Bengal they are not only considered as a commodity but a free public good for the male members of those communities. In this connection with the support from persons like you now they’ve start believing that they feel there are good people also on earth for the good cause. Lastly, I’d like to thanks a ton for your contribution to build the website for Roshni which has shaken the community. "This is probably first time an all Muslim girl led organization has built a website like this and is possible for your kind and immediate reaction. Through this site we will connect, conserve and share vibrant incidence of our community, build positive moves to develop a socially just, Rights’ aware community and courage to face any socio-politico-economic odds in their own life.”
  6. By now I'm sure readers appreciate the significance of Muslim girls who let their light shine... .
  7. 'They are all Muslim girls from Rajabazaar, aged 12 to 16 years'
  8. 'After lots of struggling against my community at last I managed women's football team.'
  9. Shahina via Whatsapp - 'After one year of hard work finally my dream came true yesterday when my women's football team win the trophy.'
  10. That's one I've not seen before, Pat. Do you think that face is modeled on Elizabeth Taylor?
  11. Nice enough though Thank you. I am not complaining. I am happy to have it. I just don't think it is the 5.0 it was advertised as. This should hold me over until I find something better. I think a true 6.0 would be nice. I am in no hurry. Hunting is fun. Thank you again. Here is my CGC 5.0. Very hard book to find in higher grade. Nice copies guys. Any wear shows up so easily, that any copy that is relatively unmarred is a keeper, regardless of the technical grade. It still puzzles me that it is so much tougher than most other later issues to find in grade. Or maybe its because the aesthetically pleasing 'sleeping beauty' cover stands out, and even non-Planeteers keep their copies? I've never heard a satisfactory explanation.
  12. Nice one, young Billy! Is that a scarce ped?
  13. You're most welcome Steve. I'm very proud of what these 'Roshnians' (as they are nicknaming themselves now) have achieved in such a short time. I'm busy planning a three week trip to Kolkata in November, and look forward to seeing first hand what they are doing. Such courageous and inspiring young women!
  14. Roshni's web site is now in operation: http://www.roshniumeedki.org/index.php
  15. Outstanding - really hard to find a copy with nice colors in grade!

Can't understand why those auctions didn't come up under my searches. Either way, too pricey. I think I know what it is Andy. From my experience it seems that the Ebay search engine wont show listings to a UK searcher if the listing does not include international shipping. The only way around it as far as I know is to add specific items or titles to your search list and they'll be included in an email regardless. That will show the individual listing, and youcan visit it, but you still wont be able to search the sellers listings - or at least not the ones that don't designate international shipping. That's often the case, Mike - the powers at eBay have deemed it a good idea to remove such listings from searches if you're outside the U.S. But the seller in this case did offer international shipping. Odd indeed. Hmm - a new wrinkle. I did check one of their JoJo listings and it said 'no international shipping.' But maybe it's Ebay that is inconsistent.
