  1. Great choice! No cover credits on GCD for this book and I remember the question has come up here once or twice. Any guesses? I must be wrong but the artwork reminds me of Graham Ingles. Especially like his early work on Wonder Comics 11 and 12. I think it's Doug Wildey.
  2. Apparently I did see this book in person in Chicago at Bedrock's booth. A very nice 5.5 and perhaps upgrade potential. Many years ago, that copy was originally unearthed by our own Flex Mentallo (who I hope will correct me if any of this is in error). Around 2006, he sold it to a collector named Joe Serpico, and it was Joe who had it slabbed. Joe Serpico is responsible for a great many Baker romance books in the CGC census. In most cases, where only a single, low grade copy of a particular issue has been graded, it's usually due to Joe. He'd eventually acquired almost every issue of the St. John romance titles, and he slabbed them all in short order, the low grade and the high grade alike. Joe paid a lot for my Bakers. (The money went to my project in India) I was very surprised when he let them go.
  3. I won my Fight #35 bidding from a tiny internet cafe on the edge of a slum district in south Calcutta.
  4. Nice reboot to this thread and a great book for us Centaur lovers! Bah! I hate Centaur lovers. The Centaur lovers have all the Centaurs.
  5. Great book! Love those under water scenes. Thanks, Minh and everyone. I went after it too, but was decimated in the bidding You lost a tenth of your body weight?
  6. One of my favorite Everett covers! It's one of my feveretts as well.
  7. Thanks all - I'm really enjoying these posts. Much appreciated.
  8. Don't mention it! And - you're welcome! ....time to break out the Johnny Walker and pop that puppy..... no way it would ever get LESS than an 8.5 ...... let that girl breathe, brother... GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Just don't slosh the Johnny Walker on it while it's breathing.
  9. I used to have over half the Superior Horror titles, mostly in low grade but loved rereading them. I only have a couple now, kept for their covers and grades - any Superior book in higher grade is something of a freak of nature. They just weren't built that way. Anyone else have higher grade copies to show us by any chance?
  10. There are Canadian eh? Any doubles? #4 is the only one I've come across in the wild northern wasteland. Boot, you've always got great,GREAT stuff that is right up my alley. adamstrange will correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is that they were printed in Canada for distribution in the United States. There are no U.S. versions, so these are the originals. The plates used were often very worn hence the quality of printing is often substandard. Adds to their charm if you are an aficionado. They don't receive anything like the attention currently given to Atlas PCH - but the surreal horror of the stories and artwork is hard to beat.
  11. Very nice copy of a super cool book ....and each purchase comes with a free breath mint GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Now that's salesmanship! I thought it was the other way around. The price of breath mints is scandalous these days!
  12. Dis fred be very educatering to da masses.
  13. Nice Spiderman 20... Unfortunately, it's one of the few APC covers where Baker didn't include a dame .... A dame?! There is almost nothing like a Baker St John cover where there is nothing like a dame. South Pacific! ( "ain't") damn! Busted!

  15. Hammer and Sickle. I wonder whose idea that was! CPI(M). The Communist Party of India (Marxist) emerged from a split from the Communist Party of India in 1964. The strength of CPI(M) is concentrated in the states of Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura. As of 2009, CPI(M) claimed to have over 1 million members. Such hammer and sickles are ubiquitous in the villages of West Bengal. It was they who first offered then withdrew Lucina's scholarship when I first met her. Not a fan!
  16. If poetry could truly tell it backwards, then it would. But how else to row, if not backwards?
