  1. I've told that tale elsewhere in this thread and don't propose to do so again. But I did post recently that I wanted this thread to be a journey of discovery, as much for me as any reader.
  2. Eventually I created my own agency, to work with marginalised people, young and old, in the West.
  3. The young people's movement Nirmal founded deeply inspired me.
  4. The experiences I had there were transformative, for me and for others.
  5. When I first visited Bonhooghly in February 1982 I knew nothing about it, had never heard of it, had no experience of village life even though I had by that time lived in India for almost two years.
  6. Serendipity is the abiding theme of this thread. My challenge is to make a connection between my relationship with the village of Bonhooghly and the emergent themes around mythology, history, the archetypes and their relationship to the human condition. In so doing I will try to retrace the lost steps of the journey, all the way back to the beginning. It is said that India has the longest unchanged culture on earth, stretching back at least 4500 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohenjo-daro
  7. It has a very depressing and nihilistic ending. ** SPOILER ALERT ** I lied. It's actually more like a Disney movie - Snow White comes to mind.
  8. More likely it's from another issue and I just lost track of which one as it was a couple of years back. Thought I saw a wormhole at the bottom of the pages which is why I may have drawn the wrong conclusion. Darn - now I'll have to figure out which issue those are from! Nice art isn't it? I really do like the art, the covers of the Planets are excellent. I seem to like the early issues into the 'teens and early 20's the best though. I love 14, and I am drawn to the black covers like 22 and 25. For reading I have started to pick up the Planet Comics collected works I have book 1 and 2 now. http://www.amazon.ca/Planet-Comics-Fiction-House-Collected/dp/1848634625 I have 1 and 2 also and pre-ordered #3 (thumbs u Fun to read so far . I am very excited for Volume 4 (Planet 13,14,15,16) Is volume #3 due out soon Kelly? Do you know?

  10. That's cool cover! Nice pick up Karl Thanks Vern! 14's are scarce, just as scarce as 15's You outbid me on this one, super looking book. (thumbs u My max bid was only a couple of bucks more than for what the auction went for. The book presents nice but it has some issues. There is some bug chew in the interior pages. Overall I am happy to get it. Low grade book but the front presents very nicely. Let me know if you want to see. I can do a back scan and some interior pics. I remember it looked like there was a piece out of the back cover top of spine and read about the chews. It would be great to see a few interior page scans. I'm at work so cant check my copy until later, but if memory serves these scans are from that issue and therefore that copy when I had it.
  11. My old copy, though I wasn't the seller you got it from. It's a pretty copy.
