  1. Powell did some fantastic cover work for S&S ... too bad the interiors didn't always live up to Powell's standard on the cover. Funny enough on a recent podcast (iFanboy), the topic of comics covers in the current market came up: should the cover artist be the interior artist? Nothing new under the sun, eh? Oh I don't know - straw man just introduced the term guppy to collecting terminolgy and I cant quite get the image out of my head, as in "Don't scare the guppies!"
  2. Actually, my copy is very nice..... Decided to re-scan those covers.. Please sir, can I have some more?
  3. Clearly by underestimating the grade I have offered you the book under false pretenses and the only ethical course of action is to take it back.
  4. Whoa - never noticed that cover before! (Now where's my wants list?)
  5. Always great when someone gets a great copy of this book. Congrats! Great one!
  6. I tap those back in all the time. I couldn't get this one to budge. Store it upside down - it sometimes works.
  7. You suck more'n me buddy! And to think it was a li'l ol' raw 5.0 when I sent it to you!
  8. Those are great books no matter how you slice 'em. Thanks Jeff - I'd love to have more like these but they are next to impossible to acquire on this side of the Atlantic!
  9. Funny ... that would be the best book in my collection Your collection is great in other ways.
  10. I like this BZ! My only copy of a TM issue is a rag, but I like the cover But I do have this one in nice shape and it is one of my favorites
  11. Thanks for posting that copy again Steve - I remembered you had it!
  12. Here is Eldon's copy of a book I never thought I'd get.
  13. +1. Will you be cracking out that AMF you just won? thanks everyone. and bunky, post whatever AMF silver surfer is referring to (if you haven't already)! Well, I think they may be refering to a this new acquisition, but with great pause, and no intent to derail your current posting, you are after all the "new super star on the Centaur block". I for one am so very happy to see a long time seasoned collector with high grade stunning books, that save for the CGC boards we would never have the chance to see, Circumstances, I hand the Centaur thread back to you, please take center stage again, BB fantastic! i love that issue. I am wracking my brains but cant recall ever having seen another copy (bearing in mind I never get to shows in the USA, so don't know what turns up there from time to time.)
  14. Even one newly revealed Centaur per week would qualify as carpet-bombing! Bomb away, man! (thumbs u well alright then, if you insist! without further ado, we continue with my copy of the first centaur issue of funny pages, Vol. 2 #6 from March, 1938. Nice Bob Wood girl art cover, and another one that i've seen less than a half dozen times. Bombs awayyy
  15. That was actually the third attempt. First they tried The Remorseful Rumba and then The Sad Samba. The zzutak zumbaaaaa zumbaaaaaaaaa

  17. Such a wonderful set of books you have posted so far! We are all on tenterhooks wondering what you will show us next!
  18. +1. Will you be cracking out that AMF you just won? Thats the plan, although consider how long it took RHG to put his run together of Tec, I may lose interest in stringing the Church Centaurs together for certain, chunks of a title, and just sell tham, and than I have to re slab.... Oh the indecison, don't know what to do, I vote for abandonment and panic selling. It is the only sensible course. I can provide bereavement counselling if needed. I also run an adoption service for lost Mile Highs. (thumbs u
  19. . You are definitely banished to the outer darkness never to blacken the portal of these boards again - But! There is a chance, just a chance mind you, however faint, that we, the merciless masters of Mystic mayhem, will relent. All will be forgiven, all you need do - and it's so simple really - is post more books!!!
