  1. I got one grail book of mine at the con -- Detective Comics #267. I couldn't find Detective Comics #215, which is the other book I am really trying to track down. Other than #267, I picked up some issues of The Filth I needed to try and complete that series. My experience at this con used to be really heavy on getting signatures and not looking at vendors' booths, but the past three years it seems almost everyone is charging $5-$10 per book on average, with some more. I changed to getting things signed only by creators I really, really follow rather than anyone I have work from. I'm not against creators charging, but it's taken some fun out of this con for me compared to when I started attending.
  2. Hey, that’s me in the grey backpack. I have been going for the past 11 years to this con. It’s always a good time. This was the first year where doing three days was too much for me, though. My favorite part is going to see Mark Buckingham. He has recognized me and my family since that first year when my seven-month-old daughter was with me. The first year back post Covid he came out of his booth to give us all hugs. He’s awesome to chat with.
  3. Picked this up from a local show yesterday.
  4. The first major key in my collection was purchased at a local show yesterday. I've been wanting to get this book for years. Getting it in high grade just isn't in my future, so I finally found a copy within my budget and that looked decent enough.
  5. Best of luck! That 679 variant is great. And I am with you -- this version of Batman is a favorite of mine, too. In fact, my silver age and golden age collecting of Batman and Detective Comics is based on the issues referenced in The Black Casebook or other issues Morrison pulled from in their run.
  6. I got very lucky and won my first copy along with Batman #197 in an auction for $150. The second copy I got from a local convention as the show was closing for $120 down from $145. Based on the prices I have seen on eBay and some other auction sites, I consider myself lucky to get them at the price I did even if the condition isn't awesome. Some auctions on eBay are going for $100-$200 more and aren't as good from what I can tell from the pictures provided. .
  7. The only book I have doubles of is Batman #113. I still am on the hunt for a better copy than what I have, but these two are decent enough for a book I have trouble tracking down in general.
  8. Batman #113 is my favorite book that I own.
  9. Tossing this one up here, too, in addition to the Batman thread.
