Hi All - I sold 2 books to David - both transactions were as smooth as silk and as painless as an anesthesiologists test patient.
Thanks David!

I just had a smooth, speedy and friendly transaction with Leonard on a fairly high-priced book. He made a very reasonable offer, and paid quickly once it was accepted. His communication was excellent. I would definitley deal with him again!
Thanks Leonard!

OP had the chance to resub book when it came back trimmed/PLOD. Once he sold it PLOD, he has no claim to what happens after.
Did anyone consider that PLOD buyer may have pasted a new edge on trimmed book, in effect anti-trimming it and garnering a Blue? It's the new pressing...

false... There is no correlation between an increase in population and increase in the percentage of that population that enjoys comicsDear G.A.torI know this is the GA forum but do you have a forecast for HG silver keys? Anecdotaly I have noticed prices softening. The Avengers 4 9.6 being an example.
Thanks in advance
Jake
Supply + demand= price.
Since demand remains relatively stable for hg sa keys, the main variable becomes supply...that is not fixed. More and more hg copies either surface or are "created" so I see a continuing of price softening unless something leads to an increase in demand.
True or False and why?:
The world's population increases daily. Therefore, the population of comic collectors increases daily. Thus, demand for comics increases daily. The increased demand for comics > increase in the population of comics
Wouldn't have to be an increase in percentage. Same percentage on an increased # = a bigger #
Example:
Pop: 5 billion
% collecting comics: .01%
# collecting Comics: 500,000
Pop: 6 billion
% collecting comics: .01%
# collecting Comics: 600,000
But how are you determining that the collecting percentage will be maintained at .01%?
Just noting that in order to achieve a bigger # on an expanding population u don't need an increased % - a maintained percentage will yield a bigger sub-population

I just sold Paul an X-Men 14. He was a pleasure to deal with, made everything easy, and paid quickly. I'd sell to/buy from him any time - Thanks Paul! --Rich

My impression is that most boardies already know how great, trustworthy and dependable skypinkblu is...now I do too. We just did a deal for 1 S.A. book, and she was fast, communicative, super-pleasant and, yes, very accurate in her given (high) grade.
I would buy/sell from/to her in a heartbeat.
Thanks SPB!

ah - it seems they've upped the cap to $250...
Final value fee (per item):
9% of the total amount of the sale
Maximum fee is $250
The $250 max is listed under auction style listings, but in none of the fixed price charts does it list a maximum fee... unless I missed it.
I think it's only for auctions - but that's what I'm concerned with, as all of my auctions (be they on ebay, clink, or CC) are no reserve auctions...

I think it's been happening more recently. Sellers should take into consideration, this is a free place to sell. 3% is nothing compared to an auction house. There's a sweet Action 27 I almost just for the heck of it, but for that dang 'ol 3%.Is it just that I've noticed it more since this whole discussion about this, or has it actually been happening more recently?
Even just with eBay, auction fees are 9% and Fixed Price listings are 7-13% of the first $50, 5-8% of the next $950 and 2% of anything over that.
In other words, I'll take PayPal's 3% over all that any day.
There used to be a $100 cap on ebay fees per auction - is that not the case any more?

Just received my first 2 books from blue808: TOS 79 & TTA 53. Advertised as 9.4 & 9.0/9.2 respectively. I have them at 9.4 & 9.2. Total beauties. Gorgeous. Well-packaged, arrived quickly. Everything super-professional. I hope to be buying from blue808 again.
Thanks Blue!

I just checked this out...outstanding! What a terrific job you did!
And Mr. Ghost Town (who I knew would have awesome books)...Avengers 4, 9.6? Are you kidding??

C'mon, Joey, this guy is looking for some helpful info:
For a 10, look for something perfect. Look for something slightly less perfect for a 9.9. 9.8's are generally not quite as nice as 9.9's.

You all KNOW it's Superman! Is he simply too obvious a choice and you all want to be different? Fess up!!

Superman could obliterate the entire rest of the list. There is no other. It is Superman.

Ok, thanks for the responses. I am really not having good experiences when it comes to buying lately. Either its poor communication or receiving items in not as described condition and shipped poorly packaged.
I sell items and have had buyers message me about the status of their shipments to which I immediately respond. Just common courtesy in my opinion. I work, have kids , the whole nine yards but I am never that busy that I cannot respond to people who have paid me money and are expecting their merchandise in a timely manner. I don't particularly like the "pay me quickly I ship to you slowly" mentality some sellers have.
Ok, I'm done. Thanks.
+1. Communication is easy.

what about doing the ol' roll the book to the left, putting the current spine on the back and pressing the *HOLY SPOON* out of it, thus moving any spine defects out of sight...
most of you know that this is being done and getting significant grade bumps...
