    Yes. My “this is absurd” moment came about 25 years ago. It wasn’t so much that comics hit $1.95 about that time, but all the gimmicks really turned me off. I bought 5 copies each of X-men #1, covers A-E... so 25 copies!

    I spent almost $50 on that one issue! I was part of the problem. No more. 

    With the exception of one book, I still have every book I have ever bought. 

    I’m quite happy now buying only back issues that came out prior to the mid 70’s.
