  1. Honestly, I expected a greater jump. Watched the auction close and when it ended at 40 I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading it right. Took a few minutes for it to settle in. Four zero. Wow. Surprised this didn't break 50, but have no doubt the price will continue to rise.
  2. Yeah. Not a big fan. Also, I've heard some truly horrible things about the folks over at CC. Things I wish I could forget.
  3. I must have missed those threads. I do think she might be leaning into the action roles a bit too much. But she definitely has the chops. Hope to see some more dramatic roles from her in the future. Think she would work well with a director like Scorsese or Tarantino. I looked for her agents email to give her some film recs with types of roles I think she would but good for I haven't been able to find it. Hoping witht the sale of the wonder woman comifc and with this thread someone from her team might see and reach out
  4. Interesting... What's wrong with gal? And sorry but I think 65k is the hard cap on that one.
  5. Let's get down to business. These are the top 3 comics ending at auction tomorrow: Number 3: Wonder Woman #1 CGC 5.5: Estimated Hammer Price - $65,000. This is a real good book. I like the look of it and it's gonna go for quite a hefty sum. Gal Gadot is a talented actress and a very tall woman. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FPREVIEW.ASP%3F_SORT%3DYES%26returning%3D1%26code%3D2024feb%26f1%3Darp%26ODire1%3DDESC%26f2%3Di.Type%2C%2Bi.Title%2C%2Bi.IssueNumber%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3Dsortcond%26ODire3%3DDESC%26fshowpicture%3D1%26fthumbbeenhere%3D1%26reliststatus%3Dtestrls%23Item_1742182&id=1742182&itemType=0 Number 2: Tomb of Terror #15 CGC 8.0: Estimated Hammer Price - $19,000. So as you can see, the guy's face... yeah, it explodes. Pretty friggin sweet. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FPREVIEW.ASP%3F_SORT%3DYES%26returning%3D1%26code%3D2024feb%26f1%3Darp%26ODire1%3DDESC%26f2%3Di.Type%2C%2Bi.Title%2C%2Bi.IssueNumber%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3Dsortcond%26ODire3%3DDESC%26fshowpicture%3D1%26fthumbbeenhere%3D1%26reliststatus%3Dtestrls%23Item_1737873&id=1737873&itemType=0 Number 1: THE HOLY GRAIL... Police Comics #1 CGC 8.5: Estimated Hammer Price - $43,000+. Doubt we see another book like this at auction again. 4.0 just sold for 18k. Let's do the math. 8.5/4= a little over 2. 18000*2ish = approximately 40000. adjust for inflation and eye appeal. that's a lot. Plus with the rumors of a plastic man movie with timothy chalament and margot robbie (2027), this book is gonna BOOM. I was the high bidder at 17k but unfortunately cant go higher as the wife needed an enhancement surgery and the budget is tight. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FPREVIEW.ASP%3F_SORT%3DYES%26returning%3D1%26code%3D2024feb%26f1%3Darp%26ODire1%3DDESC%26f2%3Di.Type%2C%2Bi.Title%2C%2Bi.IssueNumber%26ODire2%3DASC%26f3%3Dsortcond%26ODire3%3DDESC%26fshowpicture%3D1%26fthumbbeenhere%3D1%26reliststatus%3Dtestrls%23Item_1751205&id=1751205&itemType=0 Excelsior!
  6. stan (the man) lee, had he not been such an incredibly talented writer, had an alternative career in meat. steady hands and could slice any ounce size you ask for first try. just an incredibly talented guy
  7. so I have a combination of either rats or bed bugs in my studio apartment (rent controlled) in the upper east side. have had a lot of similar issues with comics. set up a mouse trap with a block of swiss cheese, but waken up at 3 am one morning and forgot about the trap. tried to grap the cheese and the thing got my finger. YOUCH! picture for reference
  8. the spiderman is pretty big these days. that kid tim holland has a lot of potential... hope he goes for some more serious roles in the future though. I think he could meet Oscar in about 30 years
  9. not sure... manufacturers in the 40s had a lot of trouble keeping pages nice and pristine. had a buddy who was around back then and he said they use to spill cherry cola on the machines some times to grease it up if it was in a jam. didnt even bother cleaning because the darkened pages made your eyes less sore.
  10. looks like a kid let a cherry popsicle melt right on the side. second from right for reference
  11. this will be a very sought-after book once Ezra is in prison for his horrible crimes.
  12. My grade is 7.0-8.0, depending on if the graders had lunch yet (and what they had). Hearing word that CGC is in negotiations with Chipotle catering. I'd wait until late in the year to send the book for the best results.
  13. People forget this is the first appearance of both plastic man AND phantom lady. According to recent sales and trends on this book, I see this selling for $50k+ this week, and 75k+ in the next few years, maybe 6 figures after the reboot (hollywood insider tip for you all).
