  3. Some tasty slabs! No HOS or Probation members Graded books sent USPS Priority. Raw sent USPS Media. DM for international shipping. No returns on slabbed books. Paypal, Zelle, Venmo, check 1st in the thread wins it. LAST CALL -- take 15% off these prices!
  4. I know it starts off with some intense moments, but it's much more than that. Such a great show. And the actor who played Cousin Richie seems perfect to play Ben Grimm. He really nails the street-tough, vulnerable, hurting but also angry kind of character.
  5. It's just scandal upon scandal at this point. It's ridiculous that employees aren't allowed to grade/sell their own books when OWNERS have been doing it since day one. I'm not saying employees should, but zoom out and see the big picture that's been there since the beginning, when CGC stakeholders were also stakeholders in Heritage. Total conflict of interest that was spotlighted by the WATA mess, with stakeholders manipulating the market for their own gain. If they ever want to earn back trust they should disclose if any of the previous stakeholders (or board members) still have a minority ownership after the BlackRock acquisition. And if stakeholders are still allowed to grade/sell their own books.
  6. I've sold thru CC, but it was before they moved to bill.com, which I've used for other payments. It works well.
  7. That jumped out to me as well. I'm guessing she's just as much of a train wreck as Mike is. I don't think he's using that as an excuse (yet). But I do suspect that she's part of his new messed up life and probably in and out of his shop, his home, (his RV???), and around what comics he does have. What a nightmare. Not one tweaker, but potentially 2 or more.
  8. Whether you believe Mike or not... If you want to know what it's like dealing with someone with a meth or heroin addiction, the way Mike is behaving is a textbook example. The lies, the promises, the excuses, the blaming of others, playing the victim, the depression/euphoria (the sky is falling/it's all good!) the inconsistent behavior, replying at all hours of the night, admitting to an alcohol problem (which is more socially acceptable) as cover for the harder stuff, going to jail, followed by vague excuses for going to jail, all while hanging on to what at this point is stolen property and "mistakingly" putting customer books up for sale on eBay. I don't think you can believe anything Mike says at this point. There will always be a grain of truth with some wild spin, some drama that he is helplessly "caught" in. Mike could come clean, pun intended, with one of these and a witness. But he'd never do it.
  9. I thought it was great. And a solid PR move since Matt was able to address a few concerns and also remind everyone that CGC isn't a faceless corporation, but populated with a lot of people who are lifelong comic enthusiasts.
  10. Before I got to the meth part my first thought was, "Oh...no...the dude's on heroin." My nephew was a heroin addict and that erratic behavior, plus always late, overpromising, with a million excuses, but also being weirdly happy and upbeat despite the obvious chaos...is how my nephew was when he was using. And he never once thought we noticed how his behavior was absolutely off the rails. Mike being an addict would explain a lot.
  11. They're supposed to. I sent a purple label comic in for a signing and it came back blue, so I dunno.
  12. The shop in question is Comic Book Station in Brooklyn. They're very active on social media, and by the photos, it looks like a great shop. Any connection to the switched comics is alleged at this point, but it appears that they may have sold switched books (perhaps unwittingly). The heat gun in that one photo is a bad look. The paper cutter, not so much. I have one in my workshop as well, as do lots of people. I don't have a heat gun.
  13. If the fraudster(s) are at this comic shop, it's ironic that they post photos on their IG of shoplifters.
  14. I wish it was just that book, but you can look at most books and see an insanely abundant supply. There are 240+ graded copies of ASM129 on eBay at the moment, again, not counting the raws. So many sellers, so few buyers.
  15. The market is absolutely flooded with books right now. Last time I checked there were 140 graded copies of FF48 on eBay. And that's not counting the raw copies for sale.
  16. Whoever knows what store this is, please name it. They could be moving books thru unsuspecting IG sellers, FB sellers, small auction houses, etc.
  17. Does anyone really believe that whoever did this stole someone else's identity? Did they use someone else's name, email, credit cards, mailing address, and eBay account? Suspects are named all the time, for any number of circumstances, even online fraud. They just use the word "allegedly" which allows for a lot of leeway.
  18. My wife's first husband was killed when he was hit by a semi. The news articles reported the trucking company, because they were at fault, though negligence was disputed. The driver was named. There was another man in town with the same name as the driver. The attorneys were careful not to confuse the two men when they were doing background checks and looking at previous criminal records and driving and employment records. People knew who the driver was for almost five years before a settlement was reached. Unless there's a compelling reason for a judge to redact everything, people get named ALL the time.
  19. This isn't the only legal entanglement CGC/NCG/Heritage/WATA/Halperin etc have been involved with. In those scandals, people were named long before a court decision.
  20. Totally. So unrealistic CGC's sister company NCG named Richard Albright as the fraudster in a similar scam regarding coins. But you're right, totally unrealistic.
  21. At this point if CGC cares about the collecting community, they need to release the name. Instead of just looking up certs, it would be helpful for those who might have purchased directly from this person. Also, it would reassure the community that this was only one person and not several. And not a CGC employee. Yes, I know, lawyers might be advising against this. But those attorneys care about CGC first and the rest of us second, if at all. If boardies know, they should step up.
  22. Incredible just to hold that piece of comic history! Do you have photos of it after the tape removal?
