  1. 9.0-9.2. Looks like a little corner softening, hard to tell on the edges. Nice looking book.
  2. That is precisely what I had thought. I was surprised.
  3. The Incredible Hulk #141 - the case came scratched from CGC, which you can see over the H, left part of the U, between the legs of the K and the scuffing over Betty (seen in full cover shot). Issues I noted, ignoring distribution ink: Marvel box: couple color breaking tics, staple stress, soft corner; slight color breaking crease top left between tree branches; color break at top of L; upper right color breaking corner crease, ~.25"; right edge color breaks by Doc's fingers; color breaking stress lines by Betty's knee, upper arm & head. soft lower right corner; apart from the upper left corner and edge, back cover looks good (more scuffing on case around the bulleted list text. yay).
  4. Interesting, This one surprised me as a little lower than I thought, I thought 9.2 was attainable. A couple non-breaking spine stresses, the one breaking crease at right, the mild stacking bend and the distribution ink on back were the points of concern. https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/4421585001/
  5. Again, no pre-slab pics of the back or interiors, sorry!. A small color breaking crease at center right, bit of a stacking fold upper left, couple points of spine stress not color breaking. Edges and corners really nice and crisp.
  6. 1.8 it was. I was expecting lower actually. https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/421585002/
  7. Hope this is ok as it's not a true PGM. I recently got my first submissions to CGC back and I'm curious to see where your keen eyes would put these. I'll share the post-slabbed pics and what I have for pre-slabbing. Foolishly, I only have front pics for most I submitted (four total). I was planning on leaving it up for a few days then show grade and notes, etc. I'd like to do the other three as well if it's not frowned on. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance, any feedback very much appreciated. A rough copy of Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane #1. Cover wasn't completely detached and split, hanging together by a few pieces. Some pencil marks to compliment the abundant tears and creases...complete though.
  8. Hey folks, quite new the the forum, Just received my first books back from grading and would love to get second opinions on a couple. I've read through the guidelines and rules for this thread and it seems like it is allowed but I wanted to ask before just cluttering it up with unwelcome threads. I have good front/back pics post slabbing and front cover only for pre-slab pics, but good zoomable details and would appreciate learning from more experienced eyes if possible. Thanks!
  9. Definitely looks much better in person. Thanks again. Pre-slab, top, slabbed, bottom.
  10. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. They are due tomorrow, very curious to see them in the light of day! I figured if anything it would have been the cleaning and if there had been any whitening process done moreso than pressing.
  11. Heyo. First post here...be gentle. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my first books sent off to CGC for pressing/cleaning & grading. I got the shipping confirmation and grader notes and images are available, so I dove in. I'm hopeful that the lighting in the pics and the plastic had a lot to do with what I saw, but I would be surprised if so. I sent in a couple vintage books, Sub-Mariner #1 and Incredible Hulk #141. My concerns isn't about the resulting grades really, it's more about the richness of colors. One of the things I loved about the Sub-Mariner was that the colors were so rich and deep on the cover. Really gorgeous. There was foxing and tanning too but overall the colors just looked luscious. What I saw in the CGC images was a bit shocking as the colors were seriously washed out and substantially desaturated. Again, haven't got the actual slabs back so I will wait and see what the reality is. The attached pic is a side by side of the pic I took just before boxing up the submission, and on the right is the crop from the CGC image. I'm not intending to whip up any drama or get all ranty, I'm really trying to make sure I have a better set of expectations from cleaning/pressing. I signed the disclaimer and understand that things can happen in the process, etc. Totally willing to take that risk. If the pics are indeed accurate though I will be really bummed as I honestly did not expect the colors to be thinned out so significantly. The red in the title and the blue in the corner box in the original state were like a nice rich, thick stew and post cleaning images have them looking like a thin broth of color...if that analogy makes any sense! I'm hopeful mods will allow this as I'd really like to know if this is a reasonable result to expect from the process. So if this does get read by any of you, I'd love to hear your experience and if such results are just part of the risk of undergoing the process or if this is a unusual result. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
