  1. Yeah I forgot that the "they came out on the same day" was debunked a while ago. But, FYI...CGC still lists it as tied with 252.
  2. I still disagree that ASM 252 should be equal to NM98 and UF4 and I can't see changing my opinion, though I'd have a better chance of being swayed on Deadpool because of the sheer number of them out there. The price of MTU 141 is a fraction of 252 and has 1/4 of the number of 9.8s in the census. Should it be a $2k book too?
  3. A buddy asked last week if I thought this would pop along with the other Walker issues. My answer was "Why? Everyone knows he's the US Agent in the show, not Cap and 354 has already blown up." Oops.
  4. Really? You think the first appearance of a different color costume should be worth more than characters that have had their own movie franchises?
  5. Luckily, she's Chinese. And even if not, we know they have no problems switching race/gender/ethnicity/etc
  6. Jubilee is a great character and a fave of people in their 30's. Plus she's an Asian female so has a REALLY good chance of showing up in any upcoming media.
  7. 20 is the first civilian appearance. 21 should be the better book as it's the first character appearance. But what if they use the third Hourman who first appeared in JLA 12 of the Morrison run? Or even the first one?
  8. Nice. I didn't know about 23. Apparently a cameo/full situation.
  9. Interesting that The Last Ronin regular cover is more than the 1:10 and even the 1:25 variant!
  10. Spawn 242 sales make no sense. Someone paid $160 for a raw a few days ago when there are 9.8s available for $200. I have a nice raw 244 stickered at $50 in my wall box that garnered zero interest at a show 10 days ago. May be time to move it online!
  11. Agreed. I think since it's never had a lot of value and horror guys seem to re-read their books quite often, they get pretty worn. Plus they sat in cheap boxes for years without being taken care of like superhero books.
  12. I get it as far as the story goes. I understand the selling points and I use ALL of them when I sell the book (which is often as there are so many X-Men run builders and most need it). It's essentially a number 1 issue after the years of reprints. I love Claremont, but name me a story arc between 94-107 (Byrne obv showed up on 108) that stands up as an iconic story. I've never seen any of those issues on a list of best X-Men stories or even best Claremont X-Men stories. I think someone said this earlier, but it didn't even reach monthly status until 113 after Byrne had been on for four issues.
  13. It's weird but he drives them to Jacksonville, FL (from central SC) and trades them to a guy there for slabbed keys. Apparently the guy has stores in Miami and maybe up North and can't find bulk. He usually takes about 200 boxes every other month to the guy. I don't know ALL the details, but it must work for all parties involved as they've done it numerous times.
  14. Gotcha. I know one of the dealers bought the boxes for $25 a box on the way to the show, sold hundreds of dollars out of them during the show and let them go for $30 a box at the end. He probably had 40 boxes so not a bad little profit for very little time/effort.
  15. Compared to the two books featuring the first appearances of the characters featured in every story in the best run of X-Men in history? It is and should be a fraction of those.
  16. So a new team? Cool. That's been done 100 times (at least) in that title. New writer? Neat. It's a book (like GL 76 but at least that's an iconic cover) that was pumped up for years in OSPG and has just become a part of the narrative that it matters. It can change hands as much as it likes to older collectors, but there are no younger (I'm 48) collectors that care about this book unless you are building an X-run and need it to fill the hole. I know I'm preaching to the wrong pew here, but it's just a book I've never liked.
  17. This wasn't at a show. They guy came and got them from my storage unit.
  18. Nope. Trust me. Ask @BishopT @hamiltonnathan@Real Elijah Snow @capt_comicsor any other guys from the Carolinas. I'm as good as anyone else at staying on top of the hot books and I went through every single box a week before I sold them pulling 30+ boxes of non-bulk/newer spec out. It was pure drek.
  19. They were well picked. Pure drek to me. No Spidey, no Batman, no hot titles. I have $1 books then I have bulk books. These were all bulk books.
  20. Crazy for a non-first appearnce, non-iconic cover, just a new team book...
  21. Just sold 67 boxes of bulk $1 stuff for $30 per yesterday. I was at a show last weekend and there were TONS of dollar boxes out and most of them were for sale at the end of the show for $30 each.
  22. Shocking. Someone asked me why it was $30 the other day and I told them not to worry about it as it would be $5 in a day or two.
