Hulk #1 in 4.0 for $2,700 in the September Clink auction!
Market correction?
-
I think this will get submitted on my next set of books!
Nice book!

I've had mine for about 2 years but just found the club. It's tough to follow the Kirby recreation, but here goes...
Welcome to the TOS club! You and I are back to back in the registry...very cool
Are you on the hunt for the whole run? I have some under copies that might be for sale once I complete the run all slabbed.
Thanks! Always nice to meet a neighbor. Yeah, I am working on the whole run, even the pre-hero stuff (another registry set). I'm shooting for above 6.0 in #1-38, whatever I can afford #39-60, and any grade starting with a 9 from #61-99. So depending on where your undercopies may fall in I would definitely be interested!

From my look it was actually a fairly impressive run. Certainly better than much of my run, to be sure. I don't know about $85K as a group, but I would bet that he would total that much selling the books individually. It would be a lot more work, but ultimately it would net a lot more money.

Welcome to the club good sir.
Thanks! At the time this was the most I'd ever laid out on a collectible, but this purchase was the warm up for my ultimate grail the next summer, the AF 15. The 39 is high on my list of most prized non-Spidey books.

Wild auction, the stuff I wanted went for GPA or more, and the things I have went cheap. Weird.
I have that same reaction all the time...

By the by....trying to track what's been re-subbed? Forget it. It's not in the interests of those doing the re-subbing to have the general public know that books that may have resided in lower grade slabs are now in higher grades.
I wouldn't guess that this is in CGC's interests either, and they keep the census...

Every copy of this issue that I have seen has this miscut where the top is narrower than the bottom. I don't know if they are all from the same set that I have or if the miscut is more wide spread.
Lots of the Pre-Hero Marvels I have seen have goofy miscuts like that. TOS #34 is one in particular that I have seen a lot of miscuts like you describe for the #12.
-
I went after a couple but lost on both.
Yeah, I lost more than I won but there were some deals to be had. Some of the ultra high grade prices were very strong IMHO, but a lot of the sub-9.2 material was quite reasonable in the titles I was watching.

So did any boardies win any of the Pre-Hero in the August Clink auction? This was my prize...
-
This has been my lone pickup so far from the August Clink auctions. I have a raw copy in 3.0-3.5, so this was a nice upgrade, especially for the price.

Check in the July auction.

There are some great books in the upcoming clink August auction. A 9.0 TTA 20 and a 9.4 TOS22 I know that TTA 20 is a popular cover.
That TTA #20 is nice but that TOS #22 is freakin' gorgeous!

I'll certainly take that #29 7.5 off your hands when you locate that 8.5!

Yeah, that one chip is bad in particular but that price still seems awfully low.
