  1. Reno Browne #51 VGish -- asking $45 + shipping SOLD Another middle issue of a super obscure 3 issue Marvel. Great color, fresh pages, everything well attached at both staples. Bit of chipping at cover edges, and overhang on right edge of front cover is a bit banged up. Still a pretty book.
  2. Texas Kid #4 F/VF -- asking $45 + shipping SOLD Incredibly fresh copy with great pages. Light spine wear and spine splits of 1/4" up top and about 3/16" at bottom. Touch of surface dirt at top of back cover that should be cleanable if so desired. Doesn't feel like a book published in 1951.
  3. Cookie #24 VG -- asking $10 + shipping SOLD Structurally nice with great pages and everything attached at both staples. Dust shadows on covers, and inside covers are tanned.
  4. Fritzi Ritz #4 (#2) VG -- asking $25 + shipping Nice looking copy, everything well attached at both staples, nice pages. Corner off front cover, spine wear, impact at top spine. Press could help a bit.
  5. Another uncommon and inexpensive Fiction House... Wambi, Jungle Boy #12 G-/G -- asking $10 + shipping Rough but complete. Cover is hanging on by a thread at bottom staple, and there is splitting along spine but covers are holding together. Centerfold is attached at both staples, and book is complete and readable.
  6. Earlyish bird to start this Saturday morning... Indians #4 G -- asking $15 + shipping Complete but with obvious wear. Piece at top left spine has a small piece of tape inside back cover holding it on. First two wraps are torn in the same spot but no pieces missing. Book is complete, readable, and everything is attached at both staples.
  7. Whip Wilson #10 VG/VG+ -- asking $75 + shipping Seriously obscure 1950 Marvel, middle issue of a 3 issue run. Book is complete, solid, well attached at the staples, and has great color. Chipping visible around the edges of the covers is really the worst of it. Great copy of a book you won't see every day.
  8. Just picked up a small but nice batch of books from a local collection. Very solid copies of books you don't see every day. I will get at least one posted today, and will try to get to the rest this weekend. First in thread or via PM is the winner. Due to lack of timestamps I will do my best to determine the owner in the event of a near tie. Offers via PM are welcome, but if a sale is made prior to a deal being completed then the negotiations cease. If a deal is reached in a PM I will update the thread ASAP. The first buyer is the owner. Shipping is at cost within the US or international. Method must be trackable, and I will not fudge customs forms. Payment via Paypal, checks, or MOs from US customers, international must pay via Paypal. Returns are fine, return shipping is on you unless I missed something material, and then shipping is on me. Nobody on any naughty list, nor anyone who has backed out of a previous deal with me are welcome to buy here. Hollywood Confessions #2 VGish -- asking $275 + shipping Published by St. John, December 1949, OSPG has Kubert doing the entire book. OSPG also lists the book as scarce, and my research turned up a fair number of sales of #1 but not much on #2. A copy listed as 2.0 recently sold on eBay for $170 and the photos show a copy that is clearly inferior to this one. A couple minor edge tears at top edge of front cover, and one at left edge of back cover. Bit of wrinkling on the left edge of the back cover that may have been moisture, but it does not have staining like it was moisture. Book length crease on front cover just to the right of the producer that minimally breaks color. A press could help this copy. Cover and centerfold are firm at both staples, staples themselves are shiny.
  9. Don’t think so. I think CGC had a booth the first time I went to Planet, which I believe was 2016. They haven’t been back since.
  10. Could be an interesting year for Wizard if they’re only doing 5 shows in 2020...
  11. Only Price Drop Amazing Adventures #3 -- $195 + shipping Tales to Astonish #6 -- $550 + shipping Pair for $730 shipped
  12. Recently upgraded both of these books, so it would be nice to free up the funds from these undercopies. I bought them both slabbed, so I do not know their pressing history. Payment via Paypal, checks, or MOs welcomed. If you are international you must pay via Paypal in US dollars. Shipping is a flat $10 in the US whether you buy one or both. International is at cost to your destination via a trackable method. Customs forms will be filled out accurately. No returns on CGC graded books, so please ask any questions or get any additional photos prior to taking a book. The first via public thread or PM is a winner, and I will do my best to determine fairly who wins in the event of a near tie between a post and a PM. Offers via PM are welcome, but if a deal is not closed prior to a thread sale then the book is sold. If a deal is closed via PM prior to a public sale then the PM deal is still good. I will post any PM sales in the thread asap. Nobody on any naughty list, or who has previously backed out of a deal with me, is welcome to purchase here. First book is Amazing Adventures #3 CGC 6.0 OW-W -- asking $225 + shipping Not a common book in this grade, one of the tougher books in the series in my experience. My scanner kept creating blue artifacts no matter what I did, so I've added a few photos (which may be rotated because I took them with my iPhone). Pretty sure it hasn't been pressed.
  13. I’m waiting a bit longer. Much of the backlog should be done by 12/1. Last Jan/Feb they had sparkling TATs, in some cases I got books back a bit faster than stated times
  14. Personally I’m not a fan of their bidding system. I “won” two books on Hakes that I did not end up owning because I didn’t outbid the previous bidder by the minimum raise. My first experience was “winning” an AF #15 by $14 but did not get the book because I didn’t outbid the last bidder by the $100 minimum raise. Nobody bid higher than me, but the person who got the book got it for $14 under my bid.
  15. Home Page Wonderful smaller show that maintains a focus on comics. There should be plenty of books in the room (including our setup) and a very solid guest list. New dates posted on their home page. Recycling the 2019 thread to be eco-conscious.
  16. Yep, now that you mention it I recall seeing that prototype listed someplace.
  17. That was my reasoning. I collect pre-hero Marvel anyway, but this title has always been a favorite of mine because of the lead-in to AF #15. Add my favorite pedigree to the mix and I was pretty well all in on this copy. It even upgraded my current 6.0 to boot. AA #3-4 have always seemed quite tough. I haven’t seen many copies of #3 come up for sale, and this 6.5 passes for high grade among the ones I have seen listed.
