  1. I very much appreciate it; when selecting my lot for my first ever submission, having a realistic expectation of what it could be (at the low end) helps the decision on what to send and what to wait on. If (as in this case) 4.0 or 4.5 is 'good enough for me', then if it actually grades higher I'll be ecstatic, rather than disappointed.
  2. I don't have any professionally graded comics yet; I'm selecting ones for my first submission currently. Since I don't have many candidates for high grades, I don't have anything to compare at the level of detail I'm inspecting at. Which brings me to my question... note these pictures are through a 30x glass, and there is a mm tape measure for scale. How much would these knock me down? Obviously with the book in question, it doesn't take much to knock it down to not worth submitting...
  3. Thank you so much for your time! I really had no idea when it gets into the "well enjoyed" category of comics; the staple was a bummer but just the exercise of realizing the gap from 1.0 to 5.0 is very much relieving. This is definitely going in and we'll see what the slab grades at!
  4. This is a re-try from my first post, now that I dedicated a space to organize and photograph. The previous thread is here: https://boards.cgccomics.com/profile/148218-spectralmonk/ This round I noticed the centerfold is popped off the bottom staple (just the one page). I added a tape measure to help show sizes of chips and cracks, and my brother's damn jelly thumb stain I know its a rough book, it's had a rough life in the late 70s and 80s! Any insight is greatly appreciated!
  5. Thanks for your feedback. It will definitely be pressed if I send it in. Also need to work on my photo lighting since I think the reading crease may be light reflection (I'll look again when I take it out later)
  6. Hopefully my photos are better for this request. Definitely looking with different eyes now and see what looked great isn't so much! Hopefully pressing will take care of the binding alignment and the writing dents on the cover. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
  7. Thanks. They were quick pictures I took this morning before finding this forum. Will get better photos this weekend.
  8. I cracked open my collection after 25 years and I'm considering having some of them graded (I haven"t ever looked into this before). I'll take better photos this weekend, but I'm just curious if... 1) cleaning and pressing will be beneficial 2) If this is even worth having graded. It had a rough life it's first 15 years, being stolen back and forth between my brother and I before I grew up, backed and bagged it. It wasn't "collectable" until I see today values on the series. My advanced thanks to anyone who checks out this post!
