  1. Yikes. The photos do actually look worse than when you're looking at the comic, but they do show the defects well. Thanks for the grade!
  2. Unfortunately somehow this book was lain flat on something bumpy while still in a board and bag. It has a sort of fat wrinkle in it, you can see it on the open pages, maybe could be pressed out? Then there is the scuffing near thein the DC logo, and near the staples. How did it get so scuffed?? It's hardly ever been handled. I have no idea what grade it might get.
  3. That's good info. I remember saving up $50 to buy this book when I was twelve years old, a big purchase. If I was going to keep it I'd definitely send it in just to keep it intact, but since I'm in the position of needing to sell some of my old stuff it's a bit harder to decide. Thanks again!
  4. Thanks for the advice! The book itself is pretty sturdy. It's the edges of the cover that would be easy to snag on the bag. Are detached covers always .5?
  5. I assume this is at the bottom of the grading scale but I thought I'd ask what people thought. I bought like thirty years ago, it's such a cool book I wish it was in better shape. Should I sell it as is or send it in for grading? I hate even handling it at all.
  6. Thanks everyone. Yeah I started collecting out of boxes in used book stores in the 80's where everything was selling for 50 cents or whatever so my idea of a high grade book is one that doesn't look like it's been driven over by a dirt bike.
  7. So far this board has shown me to be a bit too kind in my on assessments. What number does this one strike you as?
  8. Not a bad looking book, but it has some dings. Worst looking are some creases near the staples in the spine.
  9. Thanks everyone for your opinions. I bought this one new myself back in '88, and I think the stain is some glue or something from manufacturing. It feels like glue anyway. Goes to show you even a comic never read and kept in a bag in board can collect small injuries.
  10. The better looking a book is to me the worse I am at grading. All I can spot is the two small creases on spine just under the price box. What do you guys think?
