  1. Thanks so much for this information it's very helpful and it looks like it'll work really well
  2. Unfortunately, CGC is out of shipping kits. Does anyone have any advice regarding another company that sells these kits that would be good to send silver age books in for grading?
  3. Thank you so much Lightning55. You actually just answered another question for me. I had been wondering if I declared a higher value if they would base the grading fee on that but I see that they only base the grading fee on how the comet grades out. Do you normally get your kits from them or do you use some other type kit to ship your comments to them?
  4. Thank yoou so much Cman 429. Looking at the different memberships, it would seem to make sense that if I'm planning to get very many comics graded, I should ahead and get the elite membership. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?
  5. Please be patient and forgive me for asking these questions, but I really need some help from someone that is familiar with this process. I understand the difference between vintage and modern comics, as the date dictates which category it falls in. For submission purposes, I am confused about determining if something is considered vintage or high value. If I submit a silver age comic as vintage and it turns out to be worth more than 400, (High Value or Unlimited), will CGC simply adjust their grading fees upward? Is that the case? Thank you for again for your patience and helping an old guy try to get his head around all of this. I was just involuntarily retired in November, and I need to start selling some of these books to help me pay my bills. Any and all responses are much appreciated.
  6. That's because I'm too lazy to use the keyboard and relying on talk text. Sorry.
  7. I just broke open a storage unit that I've had for 25 years. Completely forgot all the issues that I had in storage I have quite a few issues of fantastic four from number 49 through #150 i've got issues of tales of suspense between 48 and 98 I got Daredevil from issue three to age issue age nanny 89 I've got a few high issues of Thor I also have some X men from issues 51 through 140 and then I have some tales to astonish from issues 52 through 121 few amazing Spiderman from issue 61 to 82 some Avengers from issue seven through issue 117. These runs are not complete. But a lot of the issues in those runs are there like I said it's been twenty-five years since I've been involved with this and I'm out of touch obviously I have a very simple question I posted it earlier i've joined some Facebook groups to try to learn and try to catch up on the grading game and so forth seeing a lot of negative information about turnaround times for grading of taking up to a year and so forth to get comics back I want to know has that been the experience of the people in this group or are the turnaround times as advertised under the CGC website i'm asking because it's a lot of money obviously but I have some pretty good comics and if they are in good enough condition I'd like to get them grayed but I don't want to wait a whole year to get them back any responses are appreciated thanks so much
  8. I'm not new to collecting but I am new to cgc so I wanted to pose a question. I'm in several Comic book Facebook groups And I'm seeing a lot of negative comments about turnaround times or comics being graded almost a year can anyone tell me if this is the case or if in fact if we pay to grade our comics if they are turning around in close to the amount of time indicated on the CGC website. I'm curious because I have quite a few civil age comics that have been in storage for about 25 years and some of them I know are worth a little bit of money but in order to realize the full value they need to be graded but I'm an old guy and I don't know if I need to wait a whole year to get them graded any and all comments appreciated this is not intended to offend anyone or CGC I'm just seeking information thanks for any and all responses
