  1. If you had not misinterpreted the buy back comment you would've understood. Then again, you didn't. No, I pointed out you didn't know how to read. No room here. In the entire thread you've never discussed any of the packaging/ packing details and everyone knows it. Critical reading? Incapable of reason. You throw everything including old bath towels into your arguments but forget it's the facts that count. The Paypal dispute, which you opened, is what will determine who gets what. I can't help it if you can't accept the consequences of your behavior as well as accept the mistakes made by a remedial reading level. It's got to suck to be you. Yes. As I. For amplification, its got to suck to be you.
  2. Please try not to be so literal here. RMA gave DTD an out. DTD stated there was no issue with the box/ mailing. I accused DTD of damaging the book and DTD accused me of mailing a damaged book. No, but there are a few things that will be of interest. 1. The book was mailed in a mylar with a backing board and then placed in a holder with an additional board. The CGC label from the cracked out holder was placed on the backside of the backing board. DTD has this entire conversation failed to describe how it was received/ packaged and couldn't remember when asked. 2. A book that's been damaged while being shipped will have the corner of the backing board show stress - in the same area as the crease can be found...if the materials are different than how it was shipped I will be the first to call DTD out. If the book's board shows crease than we know that the damage could have occurred in the mail. Maybe Joey feels like addressing this as well. What we do know is when DTD was given a chance to describe how the book arrived he couldn't remember....he could remember glancing at the FC and thinking no biggie but the other stuff....
  3. I was at the Police Department. Now, as to everything else, please show this mysterious edit -and it's not a balk - it's more that I realized there's an hour time difference and my math in its submission and the post's content were too late to even get in what I wanted to say. You had already got it in the mail. What's funny is you were quicker on getting it out than reading the words "buy back".
  4. I would gladly buy the book back at a price that accounts for the price difference between an 8.5 and a 7.5 - Joey commented that there was a 1 point difference. My intent was always to buy back the book at that price point - but I needed to first make sure there's no additional damage to the book.
  5. This experience taught me to look closer at the board rules. They are what they are but there may be certain benefits in ways they can be amended. Incorrect. He offered and coupled with his comment of the 17th it makes a position on the book. Please do not speak to his state of mind because no one can address that. Please go back and re-read the pm's because you are incorrect. His comment ".... I would rather keep it than return it. I know you were selling some stuff to get out of a pinch, and I'm not interested in putting you back in a pickle. What I kind of think we do is get it graded, see what happens, and then work something out on the difference?" was from his perspective fair. From my perspective, I was suspicious - I could speak to the quality of the book's condition". The suggestion felt wrong. I responded with "I think the world of Mike - great guy - but there's always the distinct possibility that something can go wrong - and I'd like to limit any risk. Additionally, I'd need to see the book up close again to respond to the damage you've mentioned because I clearly missed it beforehand. Now, I understand that you wish to keep the book and yes, I'm in a pinch. but maybe its best that I simply buy the book back from you. I'm not interested in the downside if the book becomes more damaged. Sorry, but I think this is best. Let me know what you wish to do - I can have the money sent back to you on Monday. The money back to him was for a buy back - and one for a damaged book. He misinterpreted and jumped to get the book in the mail quicker than a ... Later when you read the term "refund" it comes by the buyer's way and writing - and not mine. Now, when I did "lose it" - well, clearly I was angry, but if that's losing it to you all then there appears to be either an extremely low threshold for argument or very soft and easily bent mangina's. The truth is he misinterpreted what was written. Yes.
  6. Incorrect. Kettle, pot. Pot, kettle. People might think I know how to do something that you don't and it doesn't mean I need to disclose it no matter how much you protest.
  7. The case is with Paypal and David has been requested to provide more information. When Paypal makes its decision, I will respond accordingly. This is your response. BTW, love the new avatar.
  8. Clearly you forgot to look at that too...
  9. You mean it was sitting on a shelf for over 2weeks. The comment like you've just made is further evidence of why I've treated you with such disdain.
  10. Although you've taken this position you can't prove any of it and everyone who has purchased from me on the boards knows this is as far a stretch as there is. Secondly, where are any of your responses, whether as admissions or denials, about my specific words of "buy back the book" and "need to see the damage"?? I do not believe what you claimed for a second and your misinterpretation and manipulation of what I said caused you to make a serious mistake.
  11. Here's what my scans that were done on May 24th, 2017 look like. And you saw the extra protection around the book.
  12. Yes. the book was also taped securely to a portion on the inside of the cardboard comic shipper/ carrier (what ever its called).
  13. Yes. It was also placed in a cardboard comic container for shipping and then placed inside a USPS Priority Box with additional wrapping/ padding (I can't remember if I then wrapped the cardboard comic shipping box with tons of bubble wrap or used peanuts. I think it was the bubble wrap). Funny, no one ever used asked how it was packed...
  14. There's a Paypal dispute. I wish I could just open the book, see the damage that I believe he caused - and buy the book back at a grade that's different and less than the VF+ condition I remember selling it to him. I am not looking to keep both money and the book. I said I needed to see it up close to see the damage. I said I would buy the book back. I never said at what price. He mailed the book back and twisted up the words. Thanks. No, it was simply a response to you and I hate hearing this. If you wish to pm me I can share a few details as well and some resources. I am more than willing to buy the book back but theres a dispute raised with Paypal and that determines what occurs and when it occurs. Furthermore, any comparison to Chip is as far a stretch as it is to the other side of the Universe. Yes - and there's a reason whether you understand it or not. Now, as far as the 9 pages of commentary, It's not just about the buyer going over the book. It's about that coupled with the misinterpretation on his part of "need to see up close", "buy the book back" and no definitive offer on at how much. The comment on Monday or related to when the book arrived is based upon the condition I feel. Whether any boardie likes that or not - that's what was communicated. Now, I know this is hard to agree with but I remember the book being "gorgeous"so when the words were used, well, I felt like, yeah, he got a great deal. As for making into a criminal matter - no - I've done no such thing. What I've done is utilized the system that's set up to protect people as a form of authentication and claim support and its your unfortunate belief that you know what you're talking about once more. Your commentary thereafter is what you've done in every post. I will hold the book until I am contacted by Paypal with their decision. It's ultimately my skin - and I do not have the money, Paypal does. I can also make an offer based upon the buyer dropping the claim that it arrived damaged and make an offer based on his scans and any other damage that I find different than I remember the book and say here's $X.XX and if you don't want it I'll send the book right back to you. There's no proof I shipped the book that way and anyone who has bought from me knows my grading is accurate - including you. Yes, that was me. Again with the police... you just don't get it and its exhausting. Take the position that the buyer created some serious doubt from the get go and that the buyer also misinterpreted what was WRITTEN and regardless of what ever has occurred, went on to remain unaccountable for both. I wasn't aware that there's a don't deal with list. I'd hate to be on that but if that's what the board decides, there's little I can do. For some reason you think I'm not willing to buy the book back. For some reason you think that my actions are more heinous than the buyers misinterpretations. Your missives have attacked me repeatedly yet fail to pay attention to the facts surrounding the PMs. I cannot change how angry I got - I don't think it should take away from what the communications were. I'm sorry that you can't see this.
  15. No, that's your incorrect inference. I simply state that he'll have money sent. My previous comment(s) are clear.
  16. Your opinion and its not based in fact. So what...it's what I did...It doesn't change my words. So what... your interpretation doesn't make your perspective correct. You assume to understand what i was thinking and meant. I'd rather not buy a book back because it has so little value after being damaged. The price on a FF211 drops like a lead weight. No manipulation - form taken to illustrate - and the pm's speak for themselves. You seem to be caught up at a finger rather than what the finger is pointing to. I believe you simply have taken an incorrect position. So what - but by your own admission you haven't, so we don't know and OK, that's you. And??? Wow. So is this a therapy session for you? Seriously, you have no idea what goes on in my life and its beyond arrogant and your disclaimer as to " you're probably going to take this the wrong way" doesn't preclude me to having my feelings that because the book was so beautiful or feeling that anything the buyer tells me is BS. And you remain unaccountable for glossing over the comments with the return. You show no remorse in going after me. You clearly like to hear yourself. OK. We will not do business. Thanks for letting me know. You're doing me a great favor. I've had to re-read your comments several times and am blown away so since you've commented, I've helped support two elderly people in assisted living with medical care. I have for some time. I have a blockchain start up where I invested in some of the wrong people. I also lost my Duo 2 level authentication information with an iPhone update and was locked out of my coinbase account. As for the books arrival, there's a police report and I will be opening the book and going over the details with a local detective. And let me add this piece because I forgot and its edited now for all of 20 seconds delay. David and you and anyone else that has a problem with me keeping the book sealed while I wait to be contacted by the Detective will need to keep their panties in a wad. It was David's choice to misinterpretation and twisting of "buy back" and "first see up close". The comment about the money is simply to buy the book back - he was going to be upset with my terms either way. Moreover, the book doesn't get mailed back to David because of the Paypal investigation and LE's involvement....and I'd be more than happy to send the book to Vincent at Metropolis or Jon at Comiclink to hold onto after LE and Paypal have been determined should it needs to go anywhere else. If you like I can attach of the sealed book here to this thread. Go back - re-read the comments - and without assumption.
  17. David is the one who missed my statement(s) and he is also the one who first used the term "refund" after the book was shipped. The money I offered was for a buy back and I stated needed to see the book again - and for a damaged book that drops from a VF+ to maybe a F/VF there's a real price drop. He's the one who assumed and twisted my words - he was the one that threw it in the mail and then stated "we need to proceed with a refund" when one was never offered. My comment which came much later and after tearing into the buyer was only used because I got twisted up (and after vehemently saying "NO" several different ways). Sorry to some of the guys here but missing the dialogue - this buyer is great at getting everyone twisted up.
  18. NO, I say I need to see the book up close again and I'll buy the book back - and nowhere do I offer a full refund.
  19. OK guys (no disrespect to Sharon). Here's the comment to DavidtheDavid in its entirety that everyone seems to miss and it was in response to DavidtheDavid's suggestions: I think the world of Mike - great guy - but there's always the distinct possibility that something can go wrong - and I'd like to limit any risk. Let me know what you wish to do - I can have the money sent back to you on Monday (the bold and underline are for emphasis and do not appear that way n the original note). Nowhere do I ever state for a full refund or post an amount. My next comment was: "I meant I can have the money sent to you once I receive the book back. This is very upsetting because that book was beautiful - structurally it was way above a VF+ so I'm not pleased with what you've written. Please pack it safely and return the book." So I wrote...best that I buy the book back from you.... ....and the book is now damaged.... DavidtheDavid was the one who threw it in the mail right away and I didn't offer anywhere a full refund - I said I'd buy it back....and again for amplification, its not a VF+ book since being in his possession.
  20. My "suppositions" are actual beliefs based upon your initial email of the "gorgeous book" comment and the kudos. Secondly, I have not been erratic with my behavior - I have been consistent. I have consistently stated my beliefs about you and yet again, you're in denial about your actions. Veiled threat?? And now you know why I can't take you seriously. Not going here with you. "You want to settle a matter between seller and buyer". This is one of the funniest set of comments I've read thus far. Again, big hug tottela!!
  21. That makes sense to me - but I remember packing the book pretty well - David would need to describe how it arrived - wait, I think his wife signed for it and then it sat for a few days until he returned from Alabama.
  22. Typo. Big Hug. Didn't want to change it and also add the "Muah" because David's always talking about capturing screenshots. I asked if it was something to take up with USPS. David said the box wasn't damaged and he always takes pictures when it is (It's in the PM's).
