Great new podcast with Scott. Looking forward to maybe doing a Scott Dunbier coin flip for art at SDCC!

I agreed that it was dumb to post a representational image rather than an the image of the final product and I initially thought it might be worth the risk of possibly losing money, I seriously did not know this was wrong but I have since learned my mistake.
Good luck trying to sell other books on here!

Since Mastro is a hot topic, bumping this thread from 10 years ago.
Looks like some of it got scrubbed at some point. I made a post toward the end where I said the seller should have had Romitaman sell the art, rather than Mastronet, since he ended up doing so much better with it. Which prompted a sharp rebuke from a Mastro rep. But hard for him to argue when it looked like Burkey was able to flip all those pages for 2X almost immediately following the auction.
That exchange no longer exists in this thread, for whatever reason. It may have been a separate thread, but pretty sure it was this one.
Anyway, I remember this because as I was still relatively new to the boards, it was interesting to see how much these threads may have been monitored by influential lurkers (and apparently, that's still the case). In digging up this thread, I was hoping to see who that Mastro rep was..."Chris Porter", who's named in the press release in the beginning, rings a bell. Was hoping it was Doug Allen, or one of the other big names, but Mastronet's presence on the boards appears to have been erased. Damn!
I know where Mastro is!

Great job on the podcast so far, Felix!
Would you consider doing a podcast on yourself with your journey of collecting and becoming a dealer to some of the new guard of artists?
Kolin
Thank you!
I had one of the artists I rep, Nick Dragotta, scheduled for a chat, as he's also an OA fan/collector. He said he'd do it, but would want to ask me questions, too. So yes, I'll be talking about collecting OA and becoming a rep.
Looking forward to hearing it!!

IMHO I thought the story was a befitting end to a historic character granted he won't be gone for long! Art was amazing on this series and since the Hulk 180 page will never ever be in my price range, I had to have a memorable character story point with this. I had asked Steve his process for this cover here is his response.
"For that cover I drew a rough the size of the printed cover, then lightboxed it on an 11 x 17 board using a b pencil, tightening up the piece and added details. Then I fed exed it over to Jay for inking.
For a good deal of the interior work I drew each panel of a particular page on photocopy paper, scanned them in and composited the final page in photoshop, adding details and adjusting stuff as needed. Then I put the file in dropbox for Jay to print out and ink.
The only real difference between the two methods is that I dont have to deal with shipping pages constantly to Jay and he doesnt have to wait for customs to process them before he can get to work. Covers are usually done , in my case at least, far before interiors so shipping concerns are not as worrisome.
There is big convoluted, but interesting discussion about the selling of original art and how it is changed by digital art and similar methods to what Jay and I have cooked up, but that is for another day. The only thing I would say on that topic here is that I have always followed a personal rule to never rely on the money I receive from selling original art. I want to make my living telling stories."
Happy Holidays to all and all the best in the New Year!!
