Question:
Does anyone know where to get a cgc frame that has UV protection and fits a TMNT 1?
-
Nice - did you buy them raw or graded already?

hit this up when you get ur comics!
I've just worked out a deal to join the elusive TMNT #1 1st print club! Details at a later date but being a proud owner of TMNT #1-3 all 1st prints I started toying with the idea of completing the first eleven issues. Issues #1-11, the various one shots and any variant covers/editions. However this thread is old enough that many of the pictures that would have helped with my research are no longer available. Is there another website that list things like print runs and covers shots of the first eleven issues and all the variants? -
sweet!
Hello my fellow turtle fans. Happy new year! Just thought I would share a commission I just recieved in the mail, Leonardo by Ethan Van Sciver! -
the lesson learned:
protect yourself with rubber and plastic = condom and cgc graded.
I get your point completely DJB. However, I got stuck with a counterfeit, paid WAY too much for it, thinking it was the real thing, and realized a few years later what happened.I guess it's sort of like getting a horrible sexually transmitted disease (what to do with it?). Or, it could be compared to getting bad plastic surgery.
Now that I have one, and am stuck with it, I would rather have one in better condition, to make me feel better.
Other than that, I wouldn't give a rat'sass about that book.

That's terrible for the uneducated turtles fan

Does everything look legit on this auction?

I wanna bid but that price I think might be too high for a raw book. Thoughts?
imho, for this comic, i wouldnt buy it raw - unless you saw it in person and knew what you were doing.
good luck!

Need a bit of advice guys.
I have a very nice 3rd print of TMNT 1. I'd have to double check but I believe it would grade out at least 9.2 if not higher. If that's the case, do you think it would be worth slabbing?
if it will make you happy then do it.
investment wise, i wouldnt, imho.

Sweet video - congrats!

wow for 50k starting price - the least they could have done was list some of the bigger items in the auction.

Once Overstreet finally put a price on them its going to be a wrap. Its going to be like holding onto food and water in a world wide drought.
I like TMNT #1 as much as the next guy (probably more), but I HIGHLY doubt that Overstreet listing a guide price for the issue will affect sales one way or the other.
The book is listed in open auction formats all the time to help give it a market value at any given point. I'd say a movie/new TV series would cause more issues to fly off the shelves than anything. My
+1
Overstreet guide prices and any other guide prices have no affect on comic values.
Actual sales is the only real way to get an idea of the value.
And even then it all depends on how much the buyer is willing to pay and how much that seller is willing to take.

the last 9.0 tmnt 1 sold for $2000 ebay.

if this helps, imho, i think you definitely got a better deal when compared to:

I took the plunge and bought it in this auction here below on ebay. I didn't want to give up my source before hand because I knew someone would grab it before I did today. I paid $949.99 for the four comics listed below. Let me know if it still a deal or the biggest mistake of the century.#1 CGC 6.0 1st Print
#2 CGC 9.6 1st Print
#3 CGC 9.4 1st Print
#4 CGC 9.6 1st Print

How do you figure?it was a bit high for a 9.0 OW.but still a better deal than those $1300 raw 9.2's.
the raw ones that sell on ebay are definitely not the grades that the owners say they are.
