  1. I think I like how this is turning out. There's still one last issue to this arc, so theres still time to trick us, though. But yeah, it could proove to be most interesting. Who knows, maybe some of the viltrumites will go through what Nolan did? Maybe they'll get too close to the humans and not want to take them over? Maybe this will give the heroes time to gather, research, and hit them back. Lots of possibilities here. There's no way the Viltrumites are done completely after this arc. Kind of a quick read though. And I knew that the teaser of those first few pages were just a dream, seeing the covers of 78 and 79 so long ago, it wasn't possible. Good stuff.
  2. Well you should be into a treat then, cause after 13 is when it really kicks in, in my opinion! Glad you're enjoying this series, and glad that its fan base is continuing to grow! =D
  3. Yeah, wait til all the space stuff starts happening! Even more fun! And yet I'm still excited for the Earth-based stuff to start back up. <3
  4. dic, I'd agree with the others. Give the first two trades or so a try before you make a full judgment. The first arc is a bit light... I found the art a bit hard to adjust to, and the story wasn't AMAZING yet. But after the second trade, you'll start to see where they're going with it and what really sets it apart from the rest of the superhero books. The art just gets better and better every issue somehow. The writing is nonstop quality. Even when the actions all gone, the relationships are relevant and strong. When the action comes in though, the brutality is great... it's rare to find a book where you dont know who's going to actually live. In the other books, you know everything's going to be fine in the end; in Invincible, you just never know, and it makes for real tension. It's easily my favorite book, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. Great stuff! I can't recommend it enough.
  5. Anyone else read 76 yet? I gotta say, the issue had me actually tense! I was nervous about every damn page! haha... Everything went to hell... Though Im relieved with the final casualties so far. I wonder if they can catch the Viltrumites in time...
  6. awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Ok, I thought that was where to start, but the spotty use of numbering in the trades made me unsure. thanks! =D
  7. I was surprised to see how upset my girlfriend and dad were when I told them they had a year-long wait until they get more walking dead! To win the two of them over is saying something! At first I was a little annoyed about the changes from the comic, but in the end I do enjoy not knowing whats going to happen either. And its not ike theyre ruining the overall point of the series. Its fun to read reviews of the show by people who have never read the comic. Hearing their theries as to whats going to happen is great! =D Speaking of these other shows... I just got started on Breaking Bad, and holy sh...!! I'm dissapointed in myself for not watching it sooner! Too bad season 3 isnt on DVD yet though... I'll be having withdrawls for sure. Dexter I really need to get caught up on... I got half way through season 3 and lost Showtime. I'll have to jump on that after Breaking Bad.
  8. I've been considering picking up a trade of this series, but I'm not sure which book came first. I've heard nothing but good about it. Which one should I pick up?
  9. But I'm totally loving the event... I'm anxious to see whats next. Seriously though, how can the Earth villains step it up after fighting the rest of the damn viltrumites?!
  10. Ah congrats! So, Im assuming you've dealt with Ryan himself on some of those covers? If you dont mind my asking, how much does he ask for covers directly? It seems splash pages pretty much asks for $1,500 by default for his covers. I'm sure it'll be some time before I can reason myself to set aside that much cash for the art, but it'll happen eventually =D On a side note, anyone read Guarding the Globe? I was pretty impressed with Ransom's art. Some of it was a bit sketchy, but overall, I was quite impressed. I was a bit let down that so much of the story was word for word from one of the Invincible books a bit back, but Im having fun with it. I wont ever complain about an expanded Invincible universe, haha
  11. Hey guys, I'm new here. I've been reading Invincible since somewhere around issue 30-35 or so (I wish I knew about it from the beginning). It immediately became my favorite book, and every month it gets even better! I feel like issue 75 just cant come soon enough! Robert's storylines are just perfect, but its Ryan's pencils that seal the deal. He blew my mind way back from the beginning, but it seems like he gets noticably better with every single issue. I can't even fathom the level of ridiculousness his art will be 10 years from now.... and he better still be drawing for Invincible by then, haha I've bought an interior page a few months ago from issue 52... I swear when I saw Mauler get impaled... jeeeeez... I wanted that page sooo bad. Anyhow, I've got the bug, and I need more pages! And easyt, , I already took a peak at your CAF.... man, you're gonna have to take a break for juuuuust one month for me to buy a cover too, eventually! Pleeease! Anyways, just wanted to say hey to the other fans! I look forward to discussing whats to come and whats happened! =D
