I got my copy from SFBC so I'm not sure if it is a club exclusive or not, just know I love it.900+ pages of GA Sci-Fi.

Now lets see some more covers.

  2. The Crazy Case Of The Crazy Cases! was originally published in the August, 1968 issue of Male magazine. It was reprinted in a 1970 issue of Man's World, but the reprint was poor (all four pages of the story reduced to quarter size and printed on one page).

I'm always reading the thread. I only post when I have something of value, or a question...

Hey jjs, gotta' ask.Where did you icon pic come from :headbang: ?

Sure.I think I've still got them in PB.Back soon

  4. Here is one comic a collector friend pulled out of a stack at a garage sale (he snagged 4 books in total for $30) last month...............

I call wildly_fanciful_statement. Spider-Man is an iconic, high-profile character whose appeal has been mainstream for at least 30 years. I find it hard to believe that even someone who knows nothing at all about comics or comic book subculture would look at a cover that says 'Introducing Spider-Man' and not question whether if it had any value outside of yard sale filler.

All depends where you are. The mess people throw away in the garbage where I live is insane. Then again, my town is split into two. One half is pelham(average 500k-700k homes and that's where I live) and the other half is the manor(2 mill and up homes). The mess the people in the manor throw away on bulk garbage nights is insane. I always go through the manor on my way to work when its bulk garbage that morning. You would be amazed at what people don't care about.

Maybe we should start a 'What have you found at the dump lately?' thread.

Seriously,I found a 1906 GE brass fan that still worked at the dump a couple of years ago.Sold it on ebay for $125.

One man's trash & all that.....

  5. here ya go. The pic on the website is accurate as there is no logo. It's very hard to tell in the scan, but Betty (and only Betty) is glossy. The rest of the cover is matte. I picked up 5 and they are in stunningly nice shape. If I've every held a 9.9 or a 10, it's one of these books.

I tried to capture the gloss.. You can see on her left knee where the reflection of the ceiling fan light breaks where the gloss is on her leg, but isn't on the cloth...

edit: I might have gone a little overboard on Rocketeer. I don't buy many moderns (just this and Moon Knight, really), but in addition to having this issue and the standard variants on BeachBum's 9.8+ service, I picked up all this too. :o

    rock.jpg

That is the single best image in comics.Ever!

    Going overboard on Rocketeer? Nonsense

  6. Sadly I sold off most of my Dave Stevens books about 3 years ago.Much to my regret now.Had them all except for a few of the more recent ones.I kept all my Rocketeer books and this little gem.

At the time, the signature didn't command much of a premium.

Oh,and I won the fine copy of 3-D Zone 16 and the Peek-A-Boo with the Ward cover.
