  1. Last bump, I know the auction house that has set multiple records on this book this past year at well over double my asking price for non conserved, (does not show up in the GPA, but I believe I saw it go for $7K in this grade) so it will be going there if I don't get any takes by tomorrow. This book is scarce, it rarely comes up for sale anywhere and keeps setting new record prices when they do! Thanks for looking
  2. Just reduced the prices significantly so you can pamper yourself for the holidays!
  3. Take a look, all opening bid prices start well below market and the auctions end this weekend! https://www.ebay.com/sch/anythingbox/m.html?item=302963856593&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  4. It all depends on whether the color touch is designated as amateur or professional. If pro and an A or B quality, it can be taken off easy by CCS as pro materials are more easily reverseable and do not bleed though. If amateur, then its a marker job that bleeds through and you have to scrape out the entire area (all the paper involved) of bleed through, something you would never ever consider on a nice mid grade or better copy, but at a 3.0 its not impossible to think the grade won't be affected to bad to scrape a little paper off, maybe 1/2 grade +/- (if and only if the color touch is truly minor). If its done in more than a couple places, (small dots) then just forget it and leave it as is if its done with marker/ "C" level resto work! P.S. I don't mind slight resto books too bad since they go for so much less money typically if you want to get rid of it and look for a nicer/unrestored copy.
  5. That is an obvious bleed through ct sign if ever I have seen one. Appears to be black as well which is the primary color that makes up the majority of the front cover, so I would bet money that has been touched up.
  6. LOL, So I went in and flipped my pics upside down and now they show correctly right side up! Strange! 2 big time books, make me a strong offer!
  7. Paypal accepted, but also take official bank check/cashiers check etc. No returns on CGC books, return within 7 days of receipt on raw are fine, you pay return shipping. First or time stamp if we negotiate a deal on PM. FREE USA SHIPPING! Canada, UK a bit more. Special Edition Comics #1 1940, 1st book devoted to Captain Marvel! Pre Dates #1! Big Shazam movie coming out this Spring! Captain Marvel sales blew Superman out of the water back in the day as the #1 comic book in the world! Superman caught a lucky break with a movie and TV series back in the day or this book would be selling for $1 million dollars like that one! LOL Perhaps an awesome Shazam movie will help rectify that situation as this book is about equally as scarce as Action #1 and Superman #1 but somehow at only like 5% of that same price! Book is conserved, you can read the label, No color touch, No pieces added, thus the appearance is unchanged from its natural state! Just reduced several hundred to.... $2,650 Take it home for many hundreds BELOW the most recent sale for a 3.0 copy, but with so much more potential to go up! I will consider reasonable time payments over a few months on this book, just PM me in advance. Fantastic Four #26 The Thing vs. the Hulk Classic Battle Issue! VF/VF+, absolutely beautiful, very light discoloration on upper back spine, perhaps a very light shadow, foxing etc? Otherwise this thing is extremely high grade, very sharp, tight and glossy with very little wear! Just reduced significantly to....$395 GPA is between $503 and $669 for prior 12 months or $550 and $602 for prior 90 days. Satisfaction Guaranteed on raw books! This one is a beauty! Thanks for looking! My kudos page: I have sold many bigger books than this over the years, even a Hulk #1 recently! :
  8. https://www.ebay.com/sch/anythingbox/m.html?item=302945272440&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Check out some of the biggest and most sought after keys in the market all freshly listed on ebay and all starting at well Below market value!
  9. Maybe it would be better to put a similar size (small) piece of tape back over the tear?
  10. I think I did put a post it note on the comic sleeve, but I doubt they passed it onto the grader.
  11. Tape is tape and it gets a note and blue label. Rice paper/japan paper indicates professional piece repair or tear support, so it would get a resto designation. I figured CGC was smart enough to see a faint outline of tape over the tear and still classify it as unrestored since it would have been classified as unrestored had I left the tape there! Ugh!!!
  12. I guess I know what I am talking about! Perfect spine roll removal and press candidate just as I said! I think my grade estimate of 4.5 would have been spot on if not for the centerfold becoming detached during the process! It's a beauty! Congrats!!!
  13. So I had a 1 inch tear on the cover of a Showcase #30 with a small "micro" piece of tape on the interior cover. I removed the tape since I did not want a note about the tape and I know it would not add to the grade per CGC policy anyway, but it left a little tape residue over the tear. You could even see the a very faint outline from the tape, so I figured CGC would figure this out, not restoration, only tape removed! Just got the notes back 7.0 with a purple label B1 tear seal. (on that same spot) So I guess I should have left the tape there and it would have gotten a blue label with a note of a tiny piece of tape!!! I totally disagree with the tear seal note when you can obviously see the outline from where the micro tape was!!!
  14. Not sure, but this looks just like the book I sold +/- 10 years ago! Kicking myself, it has appreciated A LOT from way back then! Beautiful books, GLWTS!
  15. Hey, I will take that book off your hands for around $300+! Sold! LOL
  16. Holy cow, are you buying a big house, retiring etc? This are some nice high dollar keys to be selling all at once!
  17. That tape looks ready to just fall off practically! Boy would that book improve if it comes right off and you get a nice press! How much are they asking out of curiosity?
  18. I personally hate stickers, so if it were me, I would ship it to hero restoration or similar and check to see if its removable. He will put some solution on it and find out if it pops right off, if not, leaves it as is as you don't want to be pulling up the cover along with it. Its a 50/50 bet, but if it does come off will help bump the grade. Either way at the very least, he could dry clean, slightly adjust a very minor roll alignment and press to get you a 1/2 grade bump +/- if that is what you are seeking. Since that is becoming a more and more expensive key, any grade bump will pay dividends and you never know, CGC might slam it a full grade or so with that sticker issue on an otherwise solid mid grade.
  19. Or you could pay to have it restored correctly if you have the extra scratch and time to wait. Might yield you a little extra return, but never anything like the unrestored copies.
  20. I know these will go for more a a specific auction house, but that takes time and i'd rather find a nice home here for these. Offered is literally the cheapest CGC 9.6 1st appearance of Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel you will find anywhere and it is only going up up and away from here as the movie gets closer! 5% off ALL REMAINING BOOKS PLUS FREE USPS PRIORITY SHIPPING!
  21. This rare book does not come up for sale very often and I think is priced fairly with perhaps a little wiggle room, any takers?
