  1. I just worked my way through A-Z and tried to cover DC, Marvel, Gold Key & Charlton. Next time I am off work I will do some war books. Very impressive Moreover you are from UK and for non-US collectors is much more difficult to build this kind of collection.
  2. I read about this in the MileHigh newsletter: "We have heard that #0 was severely under-ordered by fans and comics retailers, alike, and thus will likely end up being the key issue to this entire crossover event. With just an estimated 60%-65% as many of this key prequel issue ordered as the actual first issue to the series, it seems mathematically impossible for everyone who ordered the #1 issue to also obtain a copy of #0."
  3. Great news Green Arrow is one of my favourite comic characters. Hope that they will skip the "tricky" arrows...
  4. Around 3500 comics. I don`t have key issues, but all of my books are in complete or at least long runs. Just Bronze and Copper age with some modern comics. Living in Eastern Europe doesn`t make collecting realy easy Also if you know that you are the only person in the country which collect this kind of books is not a big incentive to throw big money on them. You have no chance to retrieive any funds if a hard times come, because there is no one which could buy them
  5. Eccomic, one of the most impressive rooms which have been shown here
  6. Love the wall! Does it rotate to fit the season? Or is it Christmas year round? Will be changing it today. I will be putting up first issues and or first appearances to denote the New Year! Simply brilliant
  7. 30 - started collecting seriously 4 year ago
  8. O.K. here's a question though. How do you protect something like this. You obviously cannot get it into a mylite. So do you try and get it into magazine size bag, or what. DR.X I do not think that this book needs protection. It simply can not be ruined more than the current This is joke of course. Great acquicition (thumbs u
  9. @sl4ppy, what do you think about the art of my compatriot Alex Maleev? I really like it and I think that his style perfectly suits this character Btw, you have a great collection. Your post are the reason for me to be interested in this character. Unfortunately for the moment I have not come across a large collection in eBay.uk from where I currently by my comics. Individual issues go too expensive, because of the shipping prices to Bulgaria and just not worth it. Keep the good work
  10. DUDE!!! How many comic books do you have? Very nice. Thanks how many?...don't know ,I never counted them ..but I think its around 6000 How do you find a specific comic for which you are looking for? I do not see any labels or separators in order to refer to the specific title or series. Very imressive, moreover you are from Europe and I know from my personal experience how difficult is to collect comics in this part of the world. So 6000 books is pretty good achievement
  11. JLA 1 are awesome! I need one for my collection someday. I love the cover of this book
  12. That`s why I post this information here. Obtaining of my collection costs me at least 3 times more
  13. Hi again, I have just find this great offer for the forum members in UK - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EPIC-ILLUSTRATED-VOL-1-34-COMPLETE-SET-FANTASTIC-/150510485505?pt=UK_Books_Comics_Magazines_US_Comics_ET&hash=item230b1fc001 The complete run for 25 GBP (thumbs u . For sure this is a much more cheaper way to obtain the complete series, than buying them one by one. It is obvious that I am not the seller(I am from Bulgaria), so this is not an ad for my auction I have just decided to post it here, because of the crazy prices which many of the other members have mentioned in the previous posts. Moreover the seller affirms that the magazines are in excellent condition. Hope, this helps
  14. I have just found this article http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=18745 . It is extremely good and full with first-hand information
  15. The first part of this sentence is largely true. Bulgarian women are gorgeous. The second part is just disappointing. Not even one comics magazine? There is no comics scene in Bulgaria? We use to have one great magazine - "Daga" (Rainbow), but this was before almost 20 years. You could see some of the issues here http://issuu.com/razkazivkartinki . We have some really great artists (no need to mention Alex Maleev ), but unfortunately they work for foreign publishers and game or cinema studios.
  16. Thanks, mate (thumbs u I am from Bulgaria. A little country with the most beautiful women and no one comic magazine
  17. Thanks for the kind words (thumbs u Yes, Michael Golden drew the first 13 issues. He was succeeded by Wayne Vansant. In one of his interviews, Doug Murray said that "The Nam" was selling over 300 000 issues per month and was Marvel`s 2nd or 3rd best selling book. I am one book (#48) short for completing the whole run of 84 issues. Collecting comic books outside the USA is pretty hard hobby, but I love it
  18. Hi averybody First I want to apologize because of my poor English I am surprised that I could not find a thread dedicated to this series. I think this is one of the comic runs with the highest quality which are coming out in 80`s and the early 90`s. One of the main advantages is its authenticity. Writer Doug Murray is a war veteran and recreated much of his own experiences and those of his vet comrades. The concept of "real time" comic run is just great. Unlike the super heroe`s comic books, here everything takes place in real time. The plot of every issue is set in 1 month, just as long as the time period between the next issue. The characters are changed at regular intervals of time and this allows authors to kill some of them, as this inevitably happens during the war. This way he avoids the invulnerability which we observe in the super heroe`s comic books in which "good" always win and (almost) never die Since I live in Eastern Europe, the topic of the Vietnam War is known mainly thanks to the cinema and films like "Apocalypse Now". This comic made me look for more materials about the theme. The more I read, the more convinced in how authentic transmitted the story is. I think it could even be used as supporting material in the history lessons at school.
  19. Not really. I have several - Blueberry, Blacksad, Asterix etc., but I do not collect any in particular. Just had find them in good price and bought, because they are pretty good.
  20. Hi, this is my first post in this forum and I can not imagine a better topic than this one. I have grown up in Bulgaria where comic books in general were a rarity, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Now I read a lot in the Internet and try to sift out the good from the not so good stuff. Maybe a year before I red about Epic Illustrated and downloaded some of the issues. I love them From this moment I have tried to collect all issues and just have received the last missing one. To be a comics collector in Eastern Europe is pretty hard hobby, because of the shipping cost, but the pleasure when you reach the goal is equal to the efforts I am only sorry because there are no more issues from this great magazine at least to the finish of “The Last Galacticus Story”. P.S. Sorry for my poor English.
