  1. They were still selling until the late 1980s. Then, I believe one of the legendary Koch brothers (Joe) bought them out and he sold the inventory through his catalog and Comic Buyers Guide ads
  2. I remember Collector's in Wantagh I believe it was on the Sunrise Highway just west of the Wantagh Pkwy Run by a nice couple and I used to get the quarterly Overstreet Updates there in the late 80s/early 90s (God, I miss those!) Also at The Incredible Pulp in Baldwin. I echo everything said about Mike's Comics Hut GREAT store and GREAT guy Mike was! Sad he passed at such a young age. I believe Mike had three locations (at different times) during his run on Northern Blvd in the Flushing Queens area. Peter G mentioned Continental Comics in Forest Hills and "legs". Mike Carbonaro may remember who she was if you bump into him at a Con or shop or on his planet! Thanks everyone for the GREAT memories here!
  3. Hi Marty Check out this previous thread on Passaic from a year ago: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=4&Number=4203957&Searchpage=1&Main=199741&Words=passaic&topic=0&Search=true#Post4203957
  4. "I believe if you go to Valiantman`s website, you can find when the 9.0 copy first appeared." NICE CALL!! It looks like it hit the CGC census sometime between January and July 2004
  5. I think it is new to the CGC world and, as noted before, maybe part of the collection of other DC keys in this auction (also noticed the first Lois Lane #1 to reach the 8.0 tier is also new to CGC census and is in this auction) The Beth. Showcase #4 passed through a couple of West Coast collectors after Joe Rainone decided to sell his piece of the Bethlehems in the early 90s. Perhaps one of those is the source of these in this auction. On a side note, interesting to note that the date stamp on the back cover of the Beth. Showcase 4 says "JULY 12, 1955" (instead of '56) Maybe the Silver Age started a year earlier!!
