  1. Two more originals:

DTM Sunday 10-11-1953 - This strip is one of those pieces that makes me smile every time I look at it. It’s just jam-packed with Wiseman-isms; the overall cinematic design of the “shot” selection, the silhouette panels, the multi-face head spin, etc. Truly a marvel, and if anything DTM needs to have quality reprints, it’s the 1952-1960 Sundays. Other than a few in the Pocket-Full-of-Fun books, most of these have never been seen again since there original press run 70+ years ago.

DTM Daily 9-20-1951 - An early Ketchum panel with a cute gag. One of the first pieces of original art I purchased from a classified ad in the Comic Buyer’s Guide for Comic Fandom (!) circa. 1982. I didn’t realize it at the time, but later when eBay came along, I realized that this piece was used for the box cover art for the 1952 aluminum foil ashtrays. HA! Talk about a bizarre, but completely appropriate for its time, licensing deal.
