  1. Now thats more like it! He don't look too bad either
  2. 40 posts a day is hard, especially when no one comments or replies to my posts unless they want to condescendingly make comments about them. I am starting to believe the hype of boardies all being meanies. I guess I will have to attend the boardie dinner in Chi Town (it is my home towm you know) to find out for sure. BTW this makes post 181 It took the Hulk 181 issues to make an impact like he did in issue #1 So maybe this post is like the birth of the bronze age for me?
  3. Quick story about my X-Men #1. I bought it from Comicbook World in Kentucky, it was signed by Stan back in 1976. I was told the only way to submit it and not have a green label was to get Stan to trace his signature and submit it for SS. So I waited a couple months maybe a year till Stan was signing books at the Detroit Fanfare. In the mean time my buddy came over from North Carolina and wanted to see the book. So I got it out and set it down in front of him on a fold out serving tray in my living room. I went into the kitchen for something while I was explaining how I was gonna get it signed on Halloween, at that time Jason says, "Man, I can't believe how nice it is on the inside" Panic struck me as I had never taken the book out of the mylar, in fear I would damage it. I run to the living room to see him holding it in one hand and flipping through all the pages. Boy was I glad he did that, since he had it out I went ahead and read it. I of course knew the story from the reprints, but had Jason not come over that day I would have never enjoyed actually reading my X-Men #1
  4. I am going to attempt to post 40 times a day from here on out. Unfortunately, that means I will have to engage in more conversation instead of just buying books. I hope you all will be patient with my minimal english and punctuation skills
  5. damnit, I did it again "I did not THINK it was that low-ball of an offer"
  6. He has not responded to my PM......... I did not hink it was that low-ball of an offer
  7. Go post s in my Uncanny X-Men thread in Copper. PM sent
  8. You'll have to tell us how you priodically post first. I really need to proof read before I hit submit....... wireless keyboard misses key strokes at times, that is my story.
  9. Do you guys mind if I post here priodically to raise my post count? I do not have anything else to contribute to other active threads.
  10. So, you think you have a right to put someone on a probation list just because they don't invoice you in a timely fashion?!? Do the math & pay up. If you're uncertain about the total, PM the seller. What a crock of B.S. I was being sarcastic, but lets say it was a AF15 I bought in his sales thread and he waited to total me up (give me his email and shipping charges so I can pay) in the time he waited he sold it to someone else...... just saying that if I was a seller I would contact the buyer via PM at the time I post the "winna" dude with a total and the option to hold the books if he wanted to see if thread was still ongoing, which by the way is what he did the previous two times I bought from him. It is not a crock of BS I admitted that I did post the "I'll take it" but he jumped the gun tryin to ruin my name because I did not respond fast enough to his threats. I will repeat it again for you as either you did not read the initial thread or did not comprehend it. AllI asked for mins after he initially PM'd me was "which books they were" I could not find any post that I had that was not paid for and he replied with a dollar amount and a threat. I am sorry but if someone says I owe them money I want to make sure that I do, maybe he made a mistake and thought that I didn't pay for a batch that I already did. But back to the subject at hand, yes, I think that a seller should be more punctual. I have had another transaction recently that I waited nearly a week for a total from the seller
  11. I am glad to read this but I am confused because we already HAVE agreed on both a PM and a "reasonable" waiting period for reply to a PM. This is very old news but some folks are acting like it is all a new concept. From the original accusation, the deal went off in February and it was presented to all that multiple attempts were made for contact, therefore the reasonable waiting period had expired long ago. I agree, this is not a new concept. And to recall the original post... I don't believe this last part has been resolved, yet, therefore no removal. well I did complete the transaction, however Resurrection said in his PM to me that he would like to remove me from probation list if I stop slinging Mud. So I guess it is a case of, "You better be quiet and stop proving me wrong or I will make your life miserable" type of situation. secondly I only fell under the criteria of the list (at the time you put me on it) because you believed him and did not hear my side. granted I did owe him money for something I forgot I did. But maybe I should have put him on the list for not totalling me up in a timely manner like I asked him to just sayin
  12. It is very simple, I posted the I'll take it. Because he did not invoice me for 2 weeks after my post I forgot that I had posted it....probably because he had the worlds longest sales thread and since I had bought from it twice already I probably was not asking him to invoice me as I might want some more books. I usually ask the seller to total me up when I feel like I am done shopping in the thread. I was unable to come online. So I had no idea that I wronged Pat. As for the person who says if you give into a bad deal is a low-self-esteem, self-flagellating insufficiently_thoughtful_person. That is not the case, I never denied that I owed this money. I, for the final time was only stating that I am utterly shocked how this has transpired and (sorry speedy-d) I hope he burns the books. I would like it if he would post the before picture of my books which are paid for yet I am still on the probation list and then take an after shot of them ingulfed in flames, this would make me happy. Eric had to edit this as my laptop has tiny screen and I do not proof read before I hit submit
  13. That's what I'm wondering here. Was Chunkybutt sending a PM to nobody because at this point Pat had removed himself from the thread? No. They are still open save one from January. Thanks for the clarification, Pat. not clarified. The two that are open are the two from June, the one that is closed is the one that contained the sales info. I could send him to PM's right now and just tell you guys that I have tried contacting him? once again, I responded to his first and only PM since february that he has sent and it said, tell me what books they I cannot find them (because he closed the the PM and I checked in our posts but all 3 transactions we had were from the same 3 month long sales thread. I am such a shiitty boardie that I bought and paid for two orders and wanted a third before he ever sclosed the thread) are and I will check into it, the only other PM I had from him says he has removed himself from this PM and that was from march 1st.
  14. Goodness, Those Golf Road shows....paid my way through college and law school from those. I don't think I could handle it now. Being a dealer back in those days is part of what formed my expectations of people when they deal with one another. There were dealers and customers that would screw me over for $10 and then there were ones that would not take advantage with 100 times as much on the line. It can be $5 or it can be $50, or $5,000 there's right and there's wrong. I don't have a dollar threshold where I start to expect people to act the right way. It's the way he came in flying off the handle without actually knowing what he committed to buy and what he didn't is why I am so vehement. I can't stomach people who don't use logic or don't have commons sense. Why check your own posts when you can scream and yell instead? You can excuse a guy for forgetting or being disorganized but I can't see falling over myself in a hurry to cut someone slack who is in the wrong and then comes onto the board, without checking his own posts, and blames the seller who didn't do anything other than wait for 120 days to get paid for some books. If someone said I didn't pay them for something I would be searching my own records and posts and emails to see what I did wrong, I wouldn't be running in, hair on fire claiming I never did a deal with the guy when I obviously wasn't sure, and was wrong. There are people that treat deals on the forum as if they were optional or less real than a face to face deal. That's one of the reasons we have a probation list in the first place. If someone's a big enough man to come in hurling bombs and saying "burn the fukin books", then they should be able to apologize when they realize they screwed up and wasted our time and this seller's time and, insulted him without cause. once again you do not read the post before you assume. I said that "I cannot find the list of books anywhere" because I looked for them. Obviously he the seller has the list as they are in front of him waiting to ship. I asked him to give me the list and I would check it out. I did not respond to anyone for 3 months, not just him, I did not sign in on these boards for 3 months. After I came back I went right back to buying all kinds of books, I apologized to him before I knew if I did him wrong or not and he responds with a dollar amount and a threat. I do not respond for 27hrs to his threat and he has me put on the probation list. Guns were not blazing I simply stated how I was shocked to Jazzman putting me on the list in less than 24hrs without giving me chance to respond and shocked how Pat would do this after making a decent buck off me in the past a couple times. and yes I hope he does burn the books although I bet they appear in his next thread........ the real question is whether or not they were in other threads this past 3months
  15. Looks like you've been patient enough and followed all the standard guidelines. He will be added to the probation list. I am utterly shocked here. I admit I am a new guy, a new guy who has completed dozens of transactions (all as buyer) with several board members. Every single board member has been immediately paid upon agreed price. Like I told ressurection in my first response, I do not remember ever getting into a deal with him, I remember being in talks with someone over some Thor books back in Februaury before I could not get back on the net. I asked what books they were and if he had a link to the post as I could find no links except our past deals (by the way all of which were flawless transactions) he responded with a price and a threat to put me on probation list. The price was $50 I think. I am not a welch, I have spent over $2,000 this month alone (well June actually) with board members, I am not a complainer even though I have been waiting over a month for books now from a certain member who has not responded yet and I have been waiting patiently for almost 3 weeks for books being held up by canadian post. The fact that I was not given 24hrs to respond to this kinda pisses me off. I am sending Resurrection his $50, burn the fukin books I do not want them. this is my first post.......as you can clearly see I mention our other transactions. If you take my quotes out of context and combine them from different conversations you can prove I am an alien from mars here to take over the earth quit arguing
  16. I never said I did not know who he was. I said I did not remeber having any books ordered and not paid for. Using the search functions I see that he did not invoice me for 2 weeks after I posted the "I'll take it". I t must have slipped my mind and in my initial response to him was simple. "Tell me which books they are, if I left you hanging I apologize" that does not seem like a demanding or hard to accomplish request. Instead he response with a probation list threat. It seems to me that you just want to argue. So I am done, he got his money I did not get the books so he made out. Are either of you guys gonna be at super-con? I'd like to buy you both a beer and discuss this further without the delayed response of a chat board. Eric
  17. Sharon, I appreciate your point. And this situation with Chunkybutt definitely shows confusion between the parties involved. . I don't know if there's confusion between the parties. Pat had a sales thread. Pulled a big stack of books, Chunky forgot all about them, failed to check his own (very short) posting history where he would have seen the posts where he took the books on the first page of his history. Chunky failed to respond to PM's for quite a long while, and only when he was added to the Probie list decided it was time to respond. His response, given the posting history showing CLEARLY what actually happened, to come in here guns blazing, claiming ignorance, blaming Pat instead of taking a simple 30 seconds to check his own posting history is pretty ignorant. That's not how I define confusion. There are a bunch of other great adjectives that would work though. You're kinda right, although expecting someone with 160 posts to be as conversant with the search function as you are isn't necessarily realistic. . I want to think you are joking here. If you are, then I applaud you. If you aren't then I couldn't disagree more. I didn't expect him to use the search function. I expected him to be able to click on his own screen name, then click on "view posts", his posts from Pat's sales thread where he posted repeatedly are right there on page 1. I have seen Chimpanzees that have learned sign language and I can't expect a board member to know how to see his own posts? I can't imagine setting the bar for understanding and comprehension that low. With that little amount of expectation we should be applauding him for mastering the mysterious and delicate art of breathing. Mr. Chunkybritches completely jumped the gun and made an out of himself here and attacked a board member who waited 3 months longer than he had to to report him for non paying. If he would have taken 10 seconds and looked at his own posts he might have avoided denying buying the books that everyone can see he committed to take. If we can't expect forum members to know how to see what they posted or to read their own PM's I don't know how we can expect them to even find their way to the forum in the first place. , page one huh. Yeah I see that. He was paid immediately afterwards. Like I said before we have had a couple transactions.
  18. Hey everyone jumpin in not knowing the whole story. Pat's only response to me in the 3 months I was not here read "Resurrection has removed himself from this PM" that is it. And as I said before, I do not see any sales threads besides the ones we have completed. I ASKED HIM (when I responded to his PM that he says I did not) "CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH BOOKS THEY WERE?" that was my response that he received at 6:12am the morning after the only PM he has sent me in 3 months, the only other said he has removed himself and the others were all completed transactions. I apologize to every person on here except Pat. Why is it so easy for him to post the thread now and could not post it for me in the PM's we had back and forth that he says we did not? He has my email and my address, hell I think he has my phone number, if he was so concerned about $50 do you think maybe he could have tried contacting me another way, especially seeing that I was inactive for 3 months. Maybe I had a family emergency that prevented me from getting online. My initial response to him that he says I did not have was, #2808713 - 06/29/11 06:12 AM Re: I never got a response from you chunkybutt chunkybutt If I just sell the car, I can up my bid... Registered: 11/10/10 Posts: 161 Loc: cincinnati, OH I cannot find the list of books anywhere that you are talking about. Please send me the list again and I will check it out. I was buying alot of books from alot of different people. I see that we have had transactions before, I am assuming it was you that I was in negotiations with Thors??? maybe before my son went into the hospital, if that is the case I apologize for leaving you hanging. Eric
  19. at least my post count is going up due to this thread . Maybe people will take me more seriously when my post count reaches 200.
  20. Well Jazzman put me on list without hearing my side of the story. Shall I post a screen shot of my payment to Rthosemynormajeans so I can be removed? Or does the probation work as double standards where anyone can put you on without you knowing but you must beg to be removed? I am confused
  21. Well this instance has been resolved there is no need for resurrection to respond unless he feels wronged by getting paid for books I do not want. He was paid imediately after my post, I still do not know what books they are. I would appreciate it if the person who so quickly put me on the probation list removes me as swiftly so I can proceed to fund the hobby, if not you guys all lost a (in my opinion) valuable asset to the financial end of the hobby. Eric

  23. I seen it right after posting my comment, I guess I am impatient. Lots of X-Men slabs so far, I think I will be broke when this fund raiser is over.
  24. 8pm eastern? I have never used the VCC before, but I do not see anything there?
  25. I will have pics of my room soon. I need to organize 20 more long boxes, clean the room and hang up some more slabs and art work before I take the pics.
