  1. Another great Cheesecake cover. I sold this one last year, but I actually found a better one that's coming back to me 9.0.
  2. Never have seen that one before. Great cover.
  3. I understand what you're saying. It's worth getting an opinion from an experience presser. (maybe joey can chime in). At the very least that back cover should be drycleaned.
  4. 4.5-5.0 as it is right now. 5.5 with a press and dry clean...... I'll give it an outside chance at a 6.0 with a pr&dc
  5. Also, the PQ was LT-OW which maybe kept the price down, but man..... that cover was amazing. If I would have seen it I would have been bidding.
  6. I think it's going to be catching up. Demand seems to be way higher than supply. Although I still can't figure out how Rick got that 7.5 for $3720
  7. I don't think I would even grade that as a 4.0. It's like Ginger 4 just leapfrogged Archie 50. I have a feeling Archie 50 is going to make another surge.
  8. I've done the finger slip before . Well.... it's good to know that a couple other bidders were going high as well. Are you going to grade it or keep it raw? The raw Ginger 1 at $1200. Hmmmm..... bad stain on back cover, and rusty staple. I'm going to pass on that one. Yours looks good, congrats.
  9. That's a travesty. You mention the handlers should have had Stan sign over the top, but can you imagine how bad that would have turned out?
  10. Wow! What a nice comic for a Newbie to pop in with! I think you're going to want to ship it over to CCS first for a press and a dryclean. Looks like a 5.5-6.0 right now but after a press/dryclean maybe a 6.5? If there's nothing wrong with it (clipped coupons, detached pages, resto, etc...) you're looking at a comic valued somewhere between $45k-$65k. It's got a lot of Marvel Chipping which will bring the value down a bit, but...... great comic! Congrats my friend, and welcome to the boards.
  11. Gorgeous comic. Check out this Wilbur cover, which came out only a few months after this Archie 32. Looks like they have the same teacher. Also, why do the girls always have their eyes closed in these types of illustrations? https://www.comics.org/issue/236295/cover/4/
  12. Me too, but I guess you can ask them to grade it regularly taking into account the problems. ThothAmon's Cindy 37 would have probably graded as high as 8.5 in a "qualified" slab, but he must have asked them to grade it as a universal. That's why the grade is so low. However, that FF5 shown above not only has the 3 holes, but the top hole looks like it pulled through. I might give it a "qualified" 3.0, but only a Universal 1.8. Spideyfein got really lucky with that grade.
  13. No kidding. Looks like the binder ring pulled completely thru that top corner.
  14. Katy Keene 62 is the poor man's Startling Comics 49 Someone with really good Photoshop skills should put Katy Keen into the robot's arms on the Startling cover. Or put the Xela damsel into the robot's arms in the KK cover.
  15. Gorgeous copy! How'd it not get a "Qualified" label? Did you request that? It probably would be an 8.5 qualified. I agree with your thoughts on the two Cindy37s coming up for auction. The 6.0 looks better to me.
  16. Cindy 37 is a great cover (I have 2), but Archie/Betty/Veronica are a big part of Pop culture so that gives Archie 50 a lot of focus. Ginger & Cindy are little known characters so are are a bit more comparable. Cindy 37 is a great Headlights cover, Ginger 4 is a great Taillights cover, but it's hard to compare them. However, headlights to headlights....I would say Cindy 37 > Ginger 1 in my opinion.
  17. The 7.0 that sold on HA 2 months ago for $114k looks a full grade higher (or more) than this one. Definitely the chip & the tanning brought the price down on this one, but still..... $85k seems like a deal.
  18. By a lot too. 4 of the last 5 recorded on GPA went over $100k
  19. Last Sept or Oct I bought a raw Ginger 4 for around $650. I posted a photo in the "Hey Buddy can you spare a grade" forum and made a comment about "overpaying" for it. That one came back as a 4.5 from CGC so now I feel like a genius.
