  1. grade is in ...... 5.0 universal. I'm happy, and you guys are good graders!
  2. Grades are in: I got a 2.0 a 3.0 and a 4.5 all universal.
  3. Grade is in...... It only got a 5.0. Bummer. graders notes say the figure of the Blonde Phantom has tracing mark indentations (I didn't even see that).
  4. Has a thread of these been started? I know there's a zillion covers out there that do the gimmick where there's an illusion of the corner being flipped up. I like where a character on the cover is actually pulling the page up (like the Superboy cover below) Here's a question.... What's the oldest example of this gimmick in comics? The Red Ryder 1 is from 1939. Could it be the oldest example?
  5. Ginger & the gang go to Hilldale HS, Archie and the gang go to Riverdale HS
  6. Yup! You win. Also, check out the spelling of "Favorite". Does that mean Jughead is speaking with an Aussie accent?
  7. Ha! I only caught the "Hilldale/Riverdale" mistake. Those funny Aussies love to misspell words like "favorite" (of course they say we misspell it).
  8. Just bought this Australian Archie. Once again they switched out one girl for another as Ginger gets switched out for Veronica. A No-Prize for anyone who can spot the definite mistake on the Australian cover. It's pretty obvious but you might miss it.
  9. My latest Australian find on the right. Hmmm.... looks oddly similar to Ginger 8. Can you see the mistake on the Archie cover?
  10. What a cool find! I don't think I own a copy right now. I wonder if the CGC graders know to look at that page for writing?
  11. It's only 3 hours later and my books have been moved to "Graded/Quality Control". That's gotta mean they'll probably ship by tomorrow. Yay 26 comics all together.... maybe my biggest submission ever.
  12. Wow. They should NOT be calling it a "Quick Press" if it's the same as a "Press". They should call it "Fast Track" pressing (which requires bulk comic submission) to match the terminology on the CGC side. "Quick Press" makes it sound like a lesser quality press. I guess I was totally off on what I had heard about it. I apologize for spreading any misinformation.
  13. My Nov 28 Value Submissions have just been listed as "Graded". Woo hoo! It wont be long now.
  14. I'm stunned to see an 80 year old comic look like it was purchased from the store yesterday. Amazing. Congrats on the find, and yes.... cool cover.
  15. Another raw Ginger 4 in the 4.0 range just sold again on ebay for $1225. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GINGER-4-1952-GOLDEN-AGE-COMIC-CLASSIC-GOOD-GIRL-ART-/352578085473?hash=item52174aa261%3Ag%3AX7kAAOSwA3xcS2qd&nma=true&si=7Of3YrKbiddYF0ZB9wXRy1gzNWw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Also a 2.0-2.5 range Ginger 4 just sold for $500 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ginger-4-Archie-Comics-1952-GGA-/264164423291?hash=item3d816d367b%3Ag%3AYa4AAOSwo6NcS9Mw&nma=true&si=7Of3YrKbiddYF0ZB9wXRy1gzNWw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 These sale prices seem to be higher than what Archie 50s go for. What's up with this? Which one of you boardies is hoarding these? I have a few but can't win any of these anymore cuz the prices are too high. Even a 3.0-4.0 Ginger 7 just sold for $220 a couple days ago. This series is on fire.
  16. Do they grade down much for that weird margin tear? Is that a full point?
  17. Pretty nice comic. Clean, flat, and glossy. Has some pressable dimples along the spine. CF is detached at the bottom staple. A couple of small margin tears on the inside. My 4th pic shows a weird tiny margin tear, I think it is a manufacturing defect where the paper pulp didn't settle in right on the paper when the paper was made (I don't know).
