  1. Looks like they got his slogan right in the beginning....

I'm at a loss with what I have been reading for the past 2 days. I was beginning to feel like he was a stand up guy. Guess they all can't be winners.

For a guy that averages 100 posts a day, GIJOE's silence since the floodgates opened last night is deafening. I don't think he's gone this long without posting since he first signed up. hm

  2. I've been getting feedback that he bullies sellers into partial refunds from a few sources recently. I actually had a PM with him earlier in the week and told him I was getting negative reports. :(

But...it's all about enjoying the hobby with other collectors and building relationships...

Yup. Branget is here to increase post count and sell. He is obviously not here to build relationships or truly enjoy the hobby with other collectors. At least publicly. He's already screwed that up.

And 24 hours later, GIJOEISAWESOME has managed to mangle his rep here more than a lot of other scuzz-balls that have ever come through here could ever hope to. :insane:

Wow, I'm not reading through the 400 posts since yesterday but I'm assuming by the couple of pages I've skimmed that someone has some explaining to do.

I like the fact that you flip multiple books, with huge markups, while overgrading them, within days of buying them, on the same boards that have guys who can spot a book they sold at a con in '86.

This is why I like you.You shoot from the hip,no BS. :applause:

Except when it comes to children's birthday parties, then he's all over the map.

That's the snow's fault you filthy animal.

    :grin::baiting:

  4. From what I can tell, this was the last PL situation on the table, pending resolution, right?

I think he is laying low since his shilling was discovered and he took a (deserved) beating. Hasn't posted since 1/23/2014. Which is a VERY long time for him. I hope you are made whole Dale.

    Doesn't look good.

Dale, If you don't mind me asking, how long ago was the transaction? He got caught shilling (great job Joe) and then reset his bids and someone won a cgc'd book for .99+shipping and he refused to send so he got negged. Got raked over in General for it and has been gone ever since. I REALLY don't want to see you get burned, you're always so nice to me at NYCC :(

I think I sent the invoice about January 8th. He has been pretty straight forward all along, that he needed to sell some stuff before he sent payment, and that's fine. He asked me to give him a couple of weeks and that's fine too. Just hope he comes through.

I intend to give him every shot to make it right.

So, (@ Dale) has HusTruck paid this invoice yet? If not, when are the 30 days up for purposes of PL nomination?

I'm going to go ahead and say, that I've had a very high $$$ transaction with HusTruck (in the $1k range) and it went smooth as butter. I think some of the reason he is coming across as a flake, is because he is a noob trying to act like a pro. I don't think he is truly dishonest. I don't. Made a few mistakes, misjudged his money, YES>Dishonest? No

Was your transaction a trade or a $1,000 sale?

If you know me, you know I rarely buy and sell.

    Or trade equal value.

Sometimes trades are even, sometimes not. It's called making money. The comic industry supplies about 50% of my families money. It puts the food on the table for my sons. It's awesome.

Not sure if you're joking, but if not, how does the comic industry put food on your table? You're not a dealer, correct?

  5. How Affleck was called, brought down to the studio to be convinced, and how they then prepared him for the fan reaction.

Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms!!

    lol

:applause: I love how a bunch of lines from that movie, including the Phantoms one, comes from the commentary from Mallrats. I don't usually listen to the commentary on DVD/blu-ray, because a lot of actors and directors are usually incredibly boring to listen to. But those guys ripping each other on Mallrats is classic.

  6. At this point, I'm not sure where this Snyder-Goyer "wee, let's throw a dart and see whose name we hit" adventure is taking us. But it feels like repeat shock value to buck the traditional casting expectation.

I'm wondering if Tilda Swinton next as Commissioner Yindel because of her appearance in The Dark Knight Returns. This way, they blend in multiple stories to make something so "their own", nobody can pick up on where-when-why this is.

We shall see where they are taking us come 2016.

I think as fans of the source material, we're all guilty of casting these movies the same way Wizard magazine used to do it back in the early 90's. Bryan Cranston seemed to be the consensus pick, probably because he just got done playing a bald, ruthless character. But if Breaking Bad never existed, would people be clamoring for the dad from Malcolm in the Middle to get the role? In this era of top notch make up and special effects, looking like the comic character isn't that important anymore.

I'm more concerned with the -script being good, because even the best actors out there can polish a turd only so much. Truth be told, I wish Hollywood would cast relative unknowns in these roles, so the Holden Caulfield in me wouldn't get hung up on the fact that Van Wilder is supposed to be Hal Jordan. :frustrated:

:) This makes me feel better.

    :banana::banana::banana:

    Oh...you're being sarcastic, aren't you?...

    No I'm not being sarcastic!

Then the dancing bananas still stand! lol

  7. I know nothing about the process, but I've always wondered about stuff like that. Does Ben Affleck have to audition for the role at this point in his career? Or do they just send him a copy of the -script and ask if he's interested?

From the way Affleck described it, they brought him in to convince him why to take another superhero role. Once they had him, then it was a prep session on how to deal with the negative reaction once his casting was announced.

So there is definitely a plan behind the scenes. Just for now, it may seem like a roll-of-the-dice selection technique.

That makes more sense. I would imagine with a project this big, the folks in charge probably have a short list of actors in mind for each role. There's a lot riding on this movie being great, besides the large wads of $ involved. Even a middling box office return could doom any chance of, say, Aquaman hitting the big screen, which would upset all 17 of his fans.

i think people forget that shaving your head is a pretty easy look to accomplish

they obviously impressed in their auditions

  11. So a guy placed a :takeit: in my sales thread for Deadly Class Eh Variants and edited his post two days later, removing the :takeit:

After I pointed it out to him he said he was getting the same books from a different source. I than shut down that difference source and he said he would make right on the original :takeit:

I don't want to sell books to this guy. Ever.

So I'm assuming that since he said he will pay for the books I can't put him on the PL and have no further recourse?

If I'm reading this right a guy backed out of a deal with you because he was going to buy from someone else (which is definitely wrong).

But then you retaliated by shutting down the other seller? Is that guy pissed at you? And now you are nominating the buyer for the PL? So you've now pissed off two guys over a deal? Huh, congrats on that. Hope it works out for you.

I believe there were also threats of the "I know where you live and work, see you soon" variety aimed at Jimmy. I can't blame him for not wanting anything to do with a crazy person. There was also some talk of chocolate poo love and sodium intake. lol
