  1. As a buyer I like getting those offers. As Adamantium mentioned, the discount(however slight) could be a "scale tipper" and I'd take advantage of it. The other benefit I get from those offers is they work as a reminder of sorts of why I have that item on my watch list. It's not always the item I'm watching, but maybe the category or seller and don't want to follow either and be inundated with alerts.
  2. Positive is noticing you've got a copy of Harvey Hits #86 which incidentally is the first ever GI Juniors story & it's got a super clean glossy yellow cover.
  3. Welcome to the hobby and the CGC boards! The label change coincided with the introduction of a newer case at some point in 2016. If you look at when your particular books were graded, you'll see the older label has the page color centered above the barcode. The newer labels show page color under the printed grade.
  4. If not for the one positive following nine straight negs for "no ship/no communication" I'd have thought the seller was incapacitated (or worse).
  5. You'll have to put Penthouse Comix #5 on your "Want List" and find out for yourself. Image isn't #5, but can't seem to delete.
  6. What exactly is the #34, the CDN printing of #35? Is the numbering sequence off for more books in the run?
  7. What names have you seen repeatedly mentioned in a positive context here on the boards?
  8. No idea what the exhibits were in 2008, but the museum was less than two blocks from WonderCon. Don't recall the museum getting much promotion.
  9. We know that sale didn't go through. Gary relisted the book for 5k less. Same serial number, so unless he's got 2 copies and didn't update the photo...
  10. Would someone please clarify this thread for me? We have a screenshot of TOS #39 8.5 sold(presumably) by Rick Probstein at auction for just over 29k. We see another TOS #39 (different serial number) listed as 'sold" for a BIN of 50k from Gary Dolgoff which we know didn't sell as he put the same book(same serial #) right back up for a BIN of 45k, where it currently entertains random watchers. I don't get what we're supposed to take away from this other than the fallibility of the GPA record, not auction vs. BIN results.
  11. Isn't this the same book now listed for 45k? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tales-of-Suspense-39-CGC-8-5-OW-W-p-1st-app-Iron-Man-Kirby-Ditko-c-27962/362921225401?hash=item547fca6cb9%3Ag%3AhUMAAOSwyVdeJx1d&LH_BIN=1
  12. She's my "go to" source for 1980's Family Circle magazines. You know the saying "One man's trash blah, blah, blah..."
  13. A couple Dell Duck books just arrived from Point Five's recent sales thread. Shipped quick and secure, books look even nicer than pictured. An overall easy transaction. Would be happy to buy from him again.
