  1. It'll be my first heroescon. I'm hyped!
  2. Thanks. I was worried because they're in there pretty snugly. Maybe the box has settled since I put it together.
  3. Thanks for replying! I know I bought magazine bags and boxes, but mine are pretty snug inside the box.
  4. Another (possibly silly) question. Does anyone know where Mr. Aragones will be? I can't find a location or table number in the brochure. Am I just blind? Haha. Thanks!
  5. Hi everyone, Does anyone know if Sergio Aragones will be sketching at SDCC this weekend? I can't find anything on the SDCC site, and Sergio Aragones site doesn't seem to get updated very regularly. A friend of mine will be at SDCC and I'd love to get a cain and abel from him. Bonus question: Does anyone know what kinds of prices he charges? Thanks!
  6. Telerites: thanks! That's what really had me worried. Here's hoping they're nice to me. Haha. Namisgr: that makes sense. Thanks!
  7. Thanks! The eye appeal sold me on it when I bought it a few years ago. That chip out of the bottom of the cover happened when I first examined the book. -_-.
  8. Quick pics for those on the fence. Cover - http://i.imgur.com/Q6nRjev.jpg Spine - http://i.imgur.com/U6tL5rx.jpg
  9. telerites: I know the brittleness is less than desireable. I suppose I'm worried about it being more detrimental to the grade. Would the cgc not grade a book if the brittleness is bad? I just don't want it to come back as a 'no grade' or something.
  10. I'd say in the $100 - $150 range. Maybe more as MyComicShop has a coverless (graded 0.3) issue 3 for $125.
  11. Mercury Man: Thanks for the reply. I'll probably want to update someday, but are you saying that (as long as I have it) having the comic slabbed wouldn't help it in any way? Protect it from the elements better than the mylar? Conserve it better?
  12. Hi all, I have a copy of Phantom Stranger 5 from the golden age series. It has great eye appeal, but the cover is very brittle along the bottom. I'm thinking it would grade somewhere between a 0.5 and a 1.0 because of this. Is it worth sending off? I think having it graded would help me sell it if I ever upgrade, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to send it off (economically). Would you slab it, or just let it lie? Thanks! L
  13. Hi all, I ordered some 4-mil BCW magazine bags, and a magazine box... and the darn mylars don't fit! >< They're very snug to the point that when they're in like they should be, the bags are squeezed on the sides, and I worry about the book inside getting warped or something. Does anyone know what size box I need? Thanks everyone!
  14. I didn't even think to search heritage! Thanks so much! Now I know there's hope. haha
  15. Thanks for the advice everyone! I went ahead and bought from uline. Great ideas on hitting up costco though.
  16. Cardboard blanks for shipping comics - Anyone know of a good source? Hi all, Does anyone know where I can buy cardboard sheets (8.5 x 11 inches if possible) for shipping comics? I tried ordering some from amazon and they were packed in such a way that none of them made it to me flat. Office Depot said they could order some for me, but the minimum order was HUGE. Where do you get yours? Thanks all
  17. Gold Key Addams Family 3 File Copy - Any hope in completing the set? Hi all, I've been away from the boards for a while, but I'm back and I expect to be more active in the future. I have a cgc 9.2 Gold Key Addams Family #3 with a 'file copy' designation on the label. I loved the cartoon the comic is based off of and would like to complete the set, but I've never seen a #1 or #2 file copy for sale. Does anyone know if these issues exist as file copies? Thanks!
  18. Thanks for your replies everyone! I really appreciate the kind words and sound advice. I will have a friend with me at the convention but I only want him to intercede if things are going badly. Houseofcomics - Thanks. It's nice to be back.
  19. Hi all, It's been quite a while but I'm finally getting back to a comic convention. (Tampa comic con) I'd like to get a few books signed by Neal Adams. I don't mind paying for the signatures, but I've heard a lot of stories about his gruffness and impatience with fans. I have difficulty speaking (due to a genetic condition) that gets really bad when I'm nervous. I can talk and get information across, but it can take a minute or two. I know how silly this sounds, but I'm worried he'll hear what I sound like and not even want to deal with me. Do you guys think it would be worth it to try, or would me going up to him invite a less than stellar encounter? Is there a trick to a positive Adams encounter? Thanks everyone.
  20. Fast shipping. Books well packed. Good communication. Would buy from again.
  21. Awesome books everyone. I'd kill for a P.S. Hardcover myself.
  22. Dear GAtor, Who are Golden age Phantom Strangers so hard to come by? Low Print Run? Low popularity? Thanks! L
