  1. I agree. Something like the Lichtenstein thread/s are relevant to this forum, but even there the subject's been done to death, with nothing new being brought to the table . . . only the same old arguments (for and against) being regurgitated ad nauseum.
  2. It's the published cover . . . it's certainly legitimate . . . would make a great piece to own . . . but the downside's that there's not very much in the way of original artwork.
  3. With the recent sale of one of my high-end covers, I knew that I needed to get something good in the vacated frame to ease the sense of loss . . . Sea Devils # 25 cover (October, 1965) by Howard Purcell I photographed this face up on the carpet (prior to going up on the wall). Some camera glare, but difficult to avoid when the art's sat behind a sheet of reflective glass.
  4. Great piece, even if mostly stats. The price seems a little ridiculous, so will be interesting to see how it fares.
  5. Second acquisition . . . Magic the Gathering - Street Savvy - by Kev Walker
  6. New in today: Magic the Gathering - Zombie Musher - by Kev Walker Delighted to have landed this one (after lengthy discussions spanning the best part of a year). Reminded me of the 'White Walkers' from HBO's Game of Thrones (currently, my favourite TV series), though it has absolutely no connection. Kev's artwork is flawless.
  7. There's a nice 7-page Western/Horror story by Al in the # 2 edition of 'Witches Tales' (Harvey, March 1951). "Massacre of the Ghosts!"
  8. Fascinating to hear some of your father's story, thanks. I expect that 'Doc V' (Michael Vassallo) has been in contact with you at some point (if not, I'm sure he would love to research your father's background - especially for the Atlas-era work)?
  9. I have: Best of EC Mad (EC) Wally Wood (EC) Jack Davis (EC) Will Eisner Spirit Vol. 1 Steranko SH.I.E.L.D. Vol. 1 Marvel covers The EC books are my favourites, though I’m also very fond of the Eisner and Steranko books. Generally not a big fan of post-1960s Marvel superhero stuff (with the exception of Miller on DD), which is why I've avoided the Spidey books.
  10. Oops, sorry, I uploaded the wrong picture. Here's the Captain Australia I should have uploaded . . .
  11. . . . and there was a time when he called himself Captain Australia:
  12. I think that's been the case in the past. However, in his last post here (which was mostly incoherent babblings, switching subjects mid-sentence) he came across as someone on the verge of a nervous breakdown (or mentally unstable). He sounded really p-I-s-s-e-d that he lost distribution for his Unearth comic. A mess of his own making (how long did he expect to routinely rip people off and get away with it?). I thought it was bad news when he cheated a friend of mine with his light-boxed artwork scam . . . but the more I'm hearing about him, the deeper his level of skulduggery goes. It comes as no surprise to me to hear that he's spent time in jail. Bad news is that they ever let him out . . .
  13. The more I read about this guy, the more murkier his past becomes. Maybe Richard's legion of silent supporters could break their vow of silence and chime in with their thoughts?
  14. Yes . . . and his 'Body Disposal Under Review' piece seems to tie-in. .
  15. Sorry to disappoint you, Richard, but I played no part in scuttling your deal to have 'Unearth' distributed by Diamond and King Comics. Had I done so, I would have no problem saying so. It's no more than you deserve, however. Having spent a lifetime of cheating others . . . you're only reaping what you've sown. I call that just desserts. You make it all sound like the problems you've experienced throughout life are all down to the actions of others. You've only yourself to blame, of course, but you're just too dumb to realise it . . . My sympathies lie with the people that you yourself have hurt.
  16. That's from the Facebook page of the "publication", doesn't seem to be a bigger version. Here's another bizarre article and cartoon written in incredibly poor taste by Richard Rae, regarding the disposal of dead bodies. You can actually read the text on this one. Follow that with this newspaper article written on Richard's murdered business partner Peter Mitris. Feel free to draw your own conclusions: http://www.crucifix.com.au/crucifix-articles/1996/3/28/unkown-bones/ Maybe he's speaking from experience? The last line of the article was expected (bit like a joke that you've heard before and know the punch-line). Anyway . . . where is our great leader? Come back, Richard, I could do with some more laughs at your expense . . . your insane rants just crack me up!
  17. I can make out that last paragraph which states that all of the original artwork used to illustrate the article was for sale. Hope no-one got stung on that lightboxed Steranko . . .
  18. Can't make out the text. Do you have a link where we can read on-line?
  19. I've just bumped the old Vince Greck thread . . . have a read through!
