You forgot to include "The Stand" chronlogically: inbetween "It" and the "Dark Tower". Then if you're not bored with that read some of his later stuff. The Cell was genuinely interesting, and I have another new one sitting on my shelf right now "Under the Dome" which I can't wait to read.

It really sorta bummed me out that Rick has his hand lopped off. When I was reading it just felt like he had an aura of invincibility about him. It did make me realize though that he's just another ordinary person but #81 showed he still barks orders with the best of 'em. Enjoyed #81 thoroughly, although when talking to a friend, we noticed that they drove in a 5 ton truck into the compound. Why didn't they use that truck for the wall instead of the little pickup? The 5 ton would provide MUCH more support, and is a much larger/heavier vehicle than the small pickup they used.

Yeah 1984 is a good read He11blazer. It still stays pertinent every time I read it, which is the hallmark of a true classic to me. The Hunt for Red October was interesting, but I can only take so much of Clancy's technical details. In that book he went a bit overboard and lost me during some parts as I'm not big into military and naval details. I think he hit it out of the park with 'Without Remorse' and the Rainbow Six's however - still two of my favorites I have read. Anyone read any philosophical books? I like 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.' It's fantastic and the wiki on it can explain better than I possibly could: "With this, the book details two types of personalities: those who are interested mostly in gestalts (romantic viewpoints, such as Zen, focused on being "In the moment", and not on rational analysis), and those who seek to know the details, understand the inner workings, and master the mechanics (classic viewpoints with application of rational analysis, vis-a-vis motorcycle maintenance) and so on."

Did you read World War Z? It was pretty good. I just finished Old School by Tobias Wolff & Repetition by Alain Robbe-Grillet, and started The Pesthouse by Jim Crace. I actually read WWZ first! Fantastic book, hope the movie does it justice.

Wouldn't mind reading those Lovecraft tales As for me I'm re-reading 1984. Fun to read it every decade or so I have a copy of Max Brook's 'Zombie Survival Guide' on my nightstand as well.

Picked up some of the only first print runs 'From Hell's slabbed this week. It's one of my fav series I had already picked up #1 two weeks ago. I was amazed how hard it is to find them, until I checked the census and found out why. There's only like 20-25 slabbed and I believe 4 or 5 have only one slab in any grade (which I purchased) out of the whole series =/ Here's the lot: #4 9.8 W #5 9.4 W #7 9.8 W #8 9.8 W #9 9.6 W #10 9.6 W So that leaves me having to get #2 #3 #6 & #11 to complete the collection

Because I'm just starting out collecting, I've been scouring the internet for CGC items of certain runs I want to collect. I'm not trying to get the best grading necessarily, but focusing more on at the price that I want to purchase it at before I move onto better graded copies. Never been a fan of the normal superhero stuff like most everyone else. I picked up: From Hell #1 9.4 $20 Wanted #2 death row 9.4 SS $4.25 Watchmen #4 9.0 $5.50 Won them on auction, and Wanted #2 & Watchmen #4 were combined shipping

It's not a good bug to catch, the medical bills just keep on coming I'm quickly finding that out! Thanks for all the welcomes, look forward to posting with some more updates and learning some more about the wonderful world of CGC collecting

Just started my comic collecting at 26 years of age last year after never really ever reading comics. I'm a big Stephen King fan so I bought these for pretty cheap: Dark Tower Gunslinger Born 9.8 #6 Sketch Dark Tower Gunslinger Born 9.8 #7 Sketch Added some other randoms I picked up cheap of series that I like: From Hell #1 9.4 Sin City: Just Another Saturday Night #1/2 9.0 Only received the two Dark Tower books and the feel of a slabbed book in my hands almost but not quite comes close to a raw book - so I think I may have the CGC bug
