  1. Picked up the new Legends Professor X last week. Really cool figure, although the Cerebro hat seems of limited use for posing since he only uses that in the mansion to seek out mutants.
  2. She's OK, kinda like Chris Hemsworth in that both try to be funny but they're both too serious for it to come off naturally. RDJ is still the headliner until he gets tired of it.
  3. I forget how Marvel categorizes powers--they give them Greek letter designations, don't they, like Alpha and Omega?--but the way Binary originally was in the comic and the way Brie was against Ronan's fleet in her movie, she seems about as powerful as Dark Phoenix to me, and that makes her more powerful than all of the MCU character to date aside from Thanos with the Gauntlet. I'd love to see a comparison as to how she even differs from Phoenix. Both Phoenix and Binary were created by Chris Claremont in the early 80s, so I'm not sure it's a coincidence they're so similar.
  4. There are a number of ways to read into what Feige actually said. Here's his exact quote: You could take that to mean she's going to be the face of Marvel, or you could take that to mean she's about to do more against Thanos than the rest of the MCU was able to. Not having seen the film the only way to know for sure is to assume his meaning like the author of that article in the screenshot did.
  5. Plus it's shipping just in time for the premiere...on Disney Plus. Release date is third quarter 2020. Does look awesome though, all the Hot Toys Iron Man figures do.
  6. Hard to compare the two films straight up. Wonder Woman had far more name recognition coming in, but the film overall wasn't as good as Captain Marvel. Yet there's nothing in Captain Marvel as good as that battlefield scene in Wonder Woman. Certainly the more surprising film is Captain Marvel. If we were taking bets as to which film would outperform the other five years ago the vast majority of us would have picked Wonder Woman.
  7. Or he's only telling her part of the truth. Perhaps the people on Jakku that raised her were exactly who he said but weren't her real parents and she didn't know it.
  8. Just like the first episode of almost every season before this one. I was expecting it to be like this, but at least this one tied up more loose ends than it created unlike previous season premieres. Which you would expect given that this is the end.
  9. The single biggest hint that JJ dropped for this in Force Awakens was Leia hugging Rey the very first time she saw her. Why would she do that if she didn't feel some kinship to her? The scene makes NO sense unless Leia already knows who Rey is since they were strangers up until that moment as far as Rey or the audience knows. The fact that we also see Leia hugging Rey in this trailer seems to pick right back up with that same thread Abrams left lying around in the first film. Same goes for Kylo's intense interest in her in Force Awakens. From the moment that First Order commander tells Kylo that a girl helped BB-8 escape from Jakku he's oddly interested in who the girl is. He's an obsessive guy so that could explain it, but that scene, too, along with all of his ongoing fondness for her makes far more sense if he's already aware of Rey for whatever reason, perhaps because they're both descendants of his idol, Anakin.
  10. Yea, Fox not renewing it means nothing for whether or not it moves to Disney. I just assume NOTHING will move to Disney in its current form and that the television shows will try to fit in with whatever Feige does with the MCU. Deciding what to do with Gifted is almost certainly on hold until they figure the rest out. I rather doubt any Marvel television shows get decided upon until they see how the planned MCU film character television shows do. If any do it'd likely be Daredevil or Punisher first.
  11. The day that Sony causes my horded copies of Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man to skyrocket in value by naming a movie after it is the day you all will want to punch me in the face for constantly hyping that movie here in this forum.
  12. BS. The entire world has known about that deal for a year and a half, and Feige has probably known about it being a possibility for far longer than that. They could have easily planned and shot something short and simple but then not used it if the deal fell through or got delayed.
  13. This public service announcement to all of you Master Debaters who insist on constantly taking a steaming dump on the thread has been brought to you by the movie "WarGames."
  14. I really, really, really wish I hadn't freaking clicked into that spoiler. I think it may have just ruined the outcome of Endgame for me, at least in part. DON'T CLICK THAT SPOILER!!! Now, a question to the unfortunate few who have:
  15. No, I haven't read that. If he's in Endgame I think I'll check it out.
  16. I see three people without assigned characters in the IMDB credits. I wouldn't read much into it yet.
  17. If Adam Warlock is the "major surprise character," that's BS. He's a third-tier character at best, probably more like fourth tier. The only characters you could really call "major" is if they toss one of the Fox characters into the end credits, which I'll still be surprised if they don't do.
  18. I went into searching for high grade comics mostly to extend the hunt of collecting. I doubt I do that again...I'd rather expand out to other hobbies, not further into any given one. I suspect if I did go deeper into action figures it would be with building customs or effects pieces, not buying graded figures.
  19. I always struggled to find a reason to like Adam Warlock in the comics. What story did I miss that showed how compelling he is?
  20. It's amazing how much his acting comes through the suit in that movie. The movie overall is rather meh, but Roth's acting in that might be my favorite performance by him ever.
  21. They're Japanese imports, so you won't see them much. Most of the Bandai effects get cheaply copied by Chinese companies, so most of the really cheap versions of those on eBay are knockoffs that suck in some way or another. The only way I know to get real ones are to get them directly from Japanese companies or from one of the major American companies that frequently sell Japanese import products like BigBadToyStore. They're not too expensive; the burst effect I'm getting this week cost $10. If you look on amiami.com all three of these are for sale for about $5 to $7 apiece, although shipping from Japan will be expensive and take 2 to 4 weeks.
  22. I like the fight scenes in both of the Hulk movies, particularly the Abomination fight. The only acting I really liked was Tim Roth as Blonsky, thought he was striking as a power-hungry sociopath.
