  1. Alright, time to stop clicking on this thread until Monday. Even you guys using spoiler tags are still spoiling somewhat outside of them too.
  2. I'm waaaay behind with six episodes piled up on the DVR, but I really enjoy the first two episodes even more than last season. Lack of free time is the only thing keeping me away from it.
  3. The hypothesis involves the mad king Aerys being Tyrion's father. Tywin was the hand of the king during that time. I've heard the books say Aerys and Tywin's wife had done the deed both before and after she married Tywin.
  4. They showed them with undead horses before, so there's no reason to believe they couldn't have undead dragons.
  5. Are we to assume that Dany wiped out the entire Lannister army last night? FINALLY, the dragons were unleashed.
  6. I know your not necessarily espousing this belief, but I certainly believe this to be the case. Didn't Shakespeare essentially borrow heavily from the Greek Tragedies?
  7. If season two spends anywhere near as much time in the Astral Plane as season one did, I think I'm done.
  8. I'm not. People in the show talk about dragons like they're nuclear weapons, but you can't shoot down a nuke with a ballista. If Dany had an entire ARMY of dragons, hundreds of them, then maybe she's the odds-on favorite. The assumption that dragons are an "I win" button is terribly short-sighted. Dragons don't make much difference at all if the enemy has ballistas. And since the first three episodes have been almost entirely about Dany's allies in Westeros being taken out by the Lannisters, it looks to me like the two sides are roughly equal right now.
  9. The only hole in that hypothesis is that Emilia Clarke isn't more beautiful than Lena Headey...they're both beautiful.
  10. NONE of those were "change for the sake of change," they were change for the sake of what they thought would increase appeal for a younger audience. So the whole MJ/Michelle thing isn't making sense either way.
  11. That does make more sense than Feige's explanations. The only inconsistency with the hypothesis is that they were careful not to call her Mary Jane throughout the production process. They always called her Michelle, but every other character used unaltered names created by Ditko or Lee. So why change Mary Jane's name? I can't come up with any explanation for that which isn't pure speculation.
  12. That was definitely a body double, but I had also heard she used the double because she was pregnant.
  13. You said sex episodes! Oops. But speaking of sex episodes moving too fast...last night's nude scene with Cersei moved way too fast. Was that another body double? Lena Heady was nude in "300," but she was about an A cup and whoever that was last night was a B or a C. But she's had kids since 300, so her body may be different now.
  14. Since we're well past the plots of the books and we know it all ends in ten episodes it's not at all surprising that the pace is picking up. After the slow pace you're referring to, wrapping it up in the seven episodes of season 7 and the sex episodes of season 8 would predictably feel much faster.
  15. Except at the end she has a line during the academic club meating where they name her the new leader of the team, and I am paraphrasing somewhat. My name is Michelle but my friend's call me MJ. I clearly heard the line, and my wife did also. So even if she is a new character the writers seem to be replacing the traditional MJ with this new character. You can't use those initials in the Marvel Universe without poeple having that thought. For the third or fourth time in the thread--Kevin Feige has already explicitly said that she isn't meant to be Mary Jane and that when and if Mary Jane ever appears she won't be Zendaya. And Zendaya keeps having to say it over and over during interviews because of the confusion that MJ nickname created. http://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/spider-man/266148/spider-man-homecoming-ending-kevin-feige-talks-some-surprises
  16. So I guess we're going to see one of the dragons get slain with that new anti-dragon ballista. Bet they don't kill more than one though and that it's one of the smaller ones.
  17. You're in luck because Mary Jane wasn't in the movie. Zendaya was another character.
  18. I bet he's out of the film. He'll just have to console himself in Sofia Vergara's arms.
  19. Right - however, the most Nixonesque person we've had in the White House might be the one there now. That wasn't happening during the movie. They certainly could re-write it for the modern world, but I think the guy you're referring to would need to rattle his saber a bit more to draw any equivalent comparison to Nixon that matches the Watchmen doomsday story. So far it hasn't happened, although Kim Jong-un may force it to.
  20. Oh yea, forgot about that. It is a better solution.
