  1. Theres also a Mind MGMT short in Dark Horse Presents #19. FYI.
  2. Wrong thread....but Morning Glories still has me intrigued. I am about to re-read it again.
  3. XTC is my favorite band ever and this comic is pretty ginchy as well.
  4. Great read. I like it. For those with the floppies put all the back covers of # 1 - 6 together for a secret code to enter at mattkindt.com/mind. There's some cool DVD like extras there with a full commentary by Matt about Issue #1. It is cool to see his creative process.
  5. WoW.....and I thought the frenzy on Magnus # 12 back in the day was cccrraazzzyyyy.
  6. Step 1: Report to local consumer affairs Step 2: Send in a secret shopper Step 3: Eat lots of popcorn as you watch the store close Would that be the B.B.B.
  7. Plenty of # 3's in the S.A. area. # 2 reprint cover is cool. That is all.
  8. Hawkeye 1:10 .....no love for some reason. I am still buying these at cover on my trips.
  9. My #1 grail book. Likewise....I am still looking for one too. I thought i saw one in the VCC......but I looked and looked and I just could'nt find it again.
  10. Most comics increase readership through trades and digital nowadays.
  11. I am curious what are the rates going up to?
  12. Your always 26 steps ahead of everyone.
  13. FYI ....books severely under ordered at my LCS Avenging Spider-man 16 and Daredevil 22. Out of the 60+ copies of SAGA all had color breaking spine ticks on that awesome purple cover. Looked like a printing mishap.
  14. IMO.... limits are a bad business practice. I'm a paying customer, cash in hand, right in front of you ready to buy a product you are offering to the public. If you insist on a limit, put a sign up saying "LIMIT ONE" or adjust the price to keep someone from buying a stack at cover. If someone told me to put them back, it would be my last visit to that store. I can't stand lazy store owners that don't track the market and when you get to the register have an epiphany and say, "Oh yeah, I need to mark this up" or "Oh yeah, you can't buy but one of those." I would be like, "Oh yeah, I forgot why I would rather buy from someone I trust online..." I have talked to mine a few times about this and he made a very excellent point and think some others have eluded to preordering. If a LCS orders in 20 copies of Star Wars 1 and you come in and buy all 20 that means that come number 2 the store may order in 20 copies based on 1 selling out but only 1 customer will pick it up as YOU were the only one who had a chance to read number 1 and thus 19 sit on the shelf. I agree that if you want to limit it make it be known. That said after a week of the comic being out I would totally agree its pretty much a free for all. this certainly makes sense for the first 3 or 4 days it is on the rack. by then your regulars and once a week customers will have had the chance to buy and read the book, maybe get into it, whatever. Maybe....the second issues have already been ordered by then. If someone wants that number one in the interim they will find it and make sure they dont miss out on the next issue. Remember the ones hitting the shelves are the ones that are not on subs. You would think they want to sell them. For those of you with one shop near you...... I feel for you.
  15. My LCS is way cool. I get to pick out my books on Tuesday and then come in to buy them on Weds. I will let him know in advance if I want multiples of something and they put no limit on me. Often we will talk about why I want more and he gets the chance to bump up his order. So its a win/win. He sells more books because he has them. He has my business because out of all the shops in town he was willing to work with a collector who sells some comics on the side and not treat me like some kind of lowlife. I will never understand the mentality of biting the hand that feeds you. BTW they don't have back issues just what they have not sold and usually if it gets to the 9 month mark it goes into the .50 bin. Variants are priced to move and they move to 50-75% off once they hit the 9 month mark.
  16. Late reply - time difference and all that. I took it to be a bend catching the light from the photo being taken. If it was a break then it *should* be visable on the first main picture. A press involves a combination of heat, humidity and pressure to eliminate small creases, reduce larger ones, enhance the 'flatness' of the book and generally improve presentation. You are 100% correct when you sy that colour breaks will not be improved in any way. I think also that grades are a little harsh on this book - a 9.6 - 9.8 *could* be achievable if it is pressed by an experienced professional. Thats a very good buy for someone. Nice snag. I followed and bit my tongue on that until the last second. I had a similar book with a tick that looked similar. Graded 9.6 after a press. Good luck!!! Off to the LCS two covers today.
  17. What time is it??? It's Adventure Time with the excellent books I received!!!!! Excellent transaction and he went above and beyond!! Thanks!!!!!!
  18. I have never seen a Marvel point one issue on the Newsstand. I am going to say the Avenging Spider-man 15.1 wont have a Newsstand variant. It is not around San Antonio and it certainly did not come out this week with Spidey #700 and Daredevil #21.
  19. I think this Spidey mania is trickling over to the Avenging # 1 variants as well. The 1:200 could be had for $29 this past weekend and they are all gone now.
