  1. Sorry to hear it Tom. Kramerica/Mark has sold thousands of books here and I've never heard a complaint. This is not how he normally rolls. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly.

I doubt it makes you feel better but I'm glad he found a job.

+1, Glad to hear he found a job as well!

  2. Agreed. There are two ways a sequel could go:

    1. Hey, let's answer all those open questions!

:sick:This is not always the case by any means, but when posed and handled well, open questions that never get answered just make a movie better. It is certainly the case with Blade Runner. If you answer the questions, even in a second movie 30+ years on, you both cheapen the original a bit for everyone and kill much of the joy for future first-time viewers who are going to watch both movies together.

    2. Remember that groovy adventure with Deckard and the replicants? That was fun, let's do another caper!!

 The action in Blade Runner, the specifics of the plot...they were most certainly cool and can be enjoyed on their own, but they're secondary to the ground-breaking mood/philosophy/humanity. These aspects of the film do not need a follow-up and most likely cannot support a follow-up.

I definitely agree with that. Part of the allure and intrigue is the open ended nature of the film. To try and answer those questions would be folly.

Another story in the same universe so to speak that touches on the same themes could be brilliant if given the same open endedness (not try to answer the question/s but rather pose them in new ways or new questions altogether.)

  3. I think common sense would would dictate that once a seller sends out an invoice there is a clock for the seller to send out the books once receiving payment. Quick payments deserve quick shipments (slower payments deserve quick shipments as well).

Don't mean to quote myself but seeing as someones name has been dropped I just want to be clear that I was just adding my 2c to what Sharon had said about SOPs. I have nothing but good things to say about the said boardie as I am sure many others do as well. Is it not possible for some of the posters to go back and edit the name out of their posts. Names should not enter here unless there is a legitimate gripe.

  5. I was not a fan of the recoloring.

I agree with the review, those B&W reprints in the Essential collection are probably the best way to view the BWS material.

I was not a fan of the recolouring as well. It drives me to distraction. I honestly have to wonder what they were thinking.

  6. This was just posted on YouTube. It's the Robert E. Howard in the Comics panel from Howard Days 2013. It features me (Jeff Shanks), my buddies and fellow Howard scholars Al Harron and Mark Finn, along with Tim Truman, who has written the DH Conan series for most of the last decade and currently writes the amazing King Conan series.

As a special bonus, Joe R. Lansdale, who was in the audience jumps in a couple of times. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Thanks for posting this. Quite enjoyable!

Glad you enjoyed it. We got quite a few compliments after that panel.

There was so much that I was unaware of which is always a nice surprise. Just went on ebay and picked up Pigeons from Hell by Scott Hampton - looking forward to it.

  8. I wanted to add that Rupp has been PMing with me to explain to me that the memes about me were not aimed at me and it makes sense to me that they were just jokes to be used in related threads. I've been the convenient butt of people's jokes since I joined and I'm OK with that. :D

I explained that I didn't understand or really like that type of humour but I also personally understand South Park humour and I realize it isn't everyone's flavour, mine especially although I'm just as guilty as anyone of saying offensive things at the wrong time.

I don't think he's a nutter personally but then I'm not an expert. I do think that people who want to get along can always find a way but then I am known as the resident hippie optimist. I'm happy to support whatever the community wants though.

I'll leave it up to the rest of you guys who are involved with the memes how you want to handle (or feel about) the other memes.

But really I just typed this out to use as many Canadian spellings as I could to irk Pat.

    Canadian spellings :cloud9:
