  1. Shill bidder or not a shill bidder? Top bids on almost all of their actions with 100% bid history with this individual in the last 30 days http://www.ebay.com/itm/350492424099?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1511wt_1185
  2. Thirty days from after he tells me outright that he's not going to pay for the books? I thought it was thirty days after no contact. I am hoping I have not gave you wrong advice. I will wait for others to chime in. c) The 30-day rule is suspended if the accused refuses to complete the transaction or if the transaction cannot be completed due to, for example, the item being sold to someone else. Since he refused to pay after posting the / agreeing to a sale you have the right to ask for them to be added. Ensure you send a PM to the individual telling them that you have brought their name up for discussion here and send them a link. (Make it a new PM to ensure they are added to the topic of discussion).
  3. Not really new to my collection this week but finally got around to scanning in and putting in the certification Id's for most of my books.
  4. +1, often the more bids on an item the more it may appeal to someone other than yourself thinking hey now that I see someone else wants it I want it that much more and will quickly be over spending/buying things you don't want
  5. NICE! Too bad there isn't much more info on it
  6. In the end the buyer did say they didn't want it(after reading several PM's but not responding to them)...which was understandable not being able to pay in the situation. But think the lack of communication and taking the time to read the message and just disregard it. Like Bio-rupp stated that if a seller asks if they still want the book, and plan to make payments etc, after little to no attempt has been made to make payments/communicate with the seller then the time should be started.
  7. I'd like to have a clause in there somewhere that a breach has been made on the date that the buyer reads a PM and doesn't answer it. That way if my PM is " do you still want this book"... which I don't get an answer to... and if shown as "read"... then in all fairness to me as a seller, that 30 day clock should start right then and there. I mean if he reads it and doesn't respond until 60 - 900 days later, then to me... that a load of hock. I hate Jack had personal problems come up... but the amount of time he had from that first unanswered PM from Dan that he read and didn't answer... to the time he told everyone of his woe, was very unfair to the seller who in good faith held that book. Honestly, if he read the sellers PM's and didn't answer... then backed out... then to me thats a punishable offense right there. I agree, I don't want to put Jack on the block by anymeans. His situation sucks but to just give the seller a heads up that its not going to happen anymore would have been appreciated for sure. I don't think its right that the seller has to wait additional time by already being considerate and allowing time payments.
  8. Ya that is quite the situation and for that reason think something needs to change in terms of time payments. He waited 90 days for payment (as they agreed) and was then expected to wait another 30 days before he could move the book incase the buyer decided they wanted to pay the money (ya Jack stated stuff happened and couldn't buy the book) but its not right that Dan should have to wait 30 more days without hearing or there being communication about the book.
  9. Congrats!!! Looks like alot of us have joined recently!! Wonders how much you saved by not picking up the ow/w.
  10. Hey Iceman. I was just about to PM you regarding this. I did not participate myself but I kept monitoring it. That auction ended today at 7:20pm without a winner. I guess the reserve was not met. You see? I knew THAT copy can't be bought at a bargain! Ya saw that it went without a winner...wonder how high the bids got/reserve amount
  11. Anyone know the result of the comicconnect 5.0 that ended today? the last i saw was at 1,950 with reserve not met.
  12. Ours are the 4.5 OW/W twins! Thanks for like $20 I couldn't pass it by. Don't say that will tempt me for a bump!
  13. 4.5 ow/ow Ebay 8/21/11 $1978.55 <---- Mine!!! Sorry for the glare will try and get some nice 3/4 scans (since I don't have a full scanner yet). Here is another purchase off ebay that I figured deserved to be in here too
  14. Ya most of my books haven't been taxed yet...only 1 out of all my orders which in the last year. So hopefully this one manages to slip through undetected like most of my others. Ya its such a key that it won't matter about the movie...hopefully this will serve as a good investment.
  15. Brother can't wait to see your book. I know which copy it is (Hint: CGC 4.5 OW-W). I was the underbidder for it! The Iceman outbid me by a whisker! I wonder how much more I would have had to bid for it to have made a difference, since I have no clue as to what his maximum bid was. Lord knows how long I'll have to wait for another such opportunity to come along because that was just about the best 4.5 copy around within my price range (or at least for what I'm willing to pay for this issue). From what I've seen going around, anything 5.0+ goes far beyond that in price. Chances are I might have to settle for a lower grade with Cr-OW pages. Oh well. Although I could post the book here, I'll do the honourable thing and let Iceman do the honours when he's ready. I won't tell you how close you were to taking it from me. But ya its the one that was on ebay last week at 4.5 ow/w. Sorry to out bid ya there are pics on Ebay which are likely better images than my scanner will do but here is the link to the listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/350485042322?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_3627wt_1185 I just hope the over the boarder fees don't hurt too much
  16. Applaud that idea! Donation to charity for stuff like that (thumbs u
  17. Hopefully joining this club shortly...love looking all the copies.
  18. Did'nt you get the memo? there's a new type of customer service, buyers should take whatever they get. In fact you should be lucky that a seller would even dare allow one to buy their comics.I'm sure you got the memo. What about the other customer service or was it customer cervix or customer circus... I forget.
  19. Thanks I have sent a pm to DimebagD notifying him of the issues. For a relatively new person you handled this well. Tried to handle this as best as possible and asked a previous individual who sold me some books for their input on the best way to handle the situation. I am also very good at lurking/reading threads I R SMRT!
  20. Thanks I have sent a pm to DimebagD notifying him of the issues.
  21. I am relatively new here to buying comics but been around for a couple of months. Recently I purchased a book (early June). The seller requested IMMEDIATE payment, which I had no problem with and funds were sent within an hour of receiving the invoice from them. The paypal message said that they would ship out the book that following weekend (3 or so days later). It has now been over a month. I sent a PM to the individual to ask what day the book was shipped as I had yet to receive it. The individual read the PM within 12 hours, did not respond until atleast 80+hrs later. In the mean time of reading the PM and not responding the individual started another sales thread so I knew they had been online long enough to reply to a previous customer (myself). So the reply came in and they have YET to ship the book. Its now been ~35 days since I paid for the book. They stated they would get around to shipping the book by the end of the week. I have seen how that worked out in the first place. Where do I go from here?
