Hey Chang!
Thank you very much for the kind words, my friend! Building the set has been a labor of love and I plan on strengthening it even further as we progress on down the road...it's been a long journey and I remember your killer sales (sadly I missed out on many the first go-round but I ended up getting some from you if I recall correctly!)
I hope all is well in Louisville! I imagine you're getting the same incessant amounts of rain we get here - stay dry, my friend! Wish me luck on staying on top as it's a hard spot to maintain for sure! Thanks again
Ryan
Definitely plenty of rain. I'll need to look at the registry, see how close the race is. Maybe I'll start rebuilding again

Ryan, you've become quite the WD collector my friend.
I've been out of the forum scene forever, and was surprised to find JamesJ sold off his insane collection, most of which came from me
Happy to see you're a true fan and have stuck with your goal of building the ultimate WD set

19 9.9's...500+ 9.8's....but only 1 of these...just got'er back yesterday..
They should have labeled that copy the Zombie Apocalypse Variant Throw some real blood splatter on it and that would be one awesome copy

Just read the last two issues
Thoroughly enjoying the story arc, and certainly can't wait to see how this ends

Nice grades Retro
I've only ever received one 9.9 grade...and it was for a WD book too

Is it German chocolate cake with extra icing??

The members name for the set that is being sold appears to be incoflip. As to whether or not that is the same name they use on the boards here

I recently just got a #14 9.8 from eBay. And I swear I don't know how in the hell this book got a 9.8
The certification # matches
But the whole spine from top to bottom has that white line all the way down it, and it looks frayed. And both spine side corners are frayed hard. I just don't know maybe that's normal and they let slide. What do I know anyways?
Got some pics or link to ebay listing? I have felt the same in the past with some of mine. Seems like they can get damage from trading hands and poor shipping in the past. I have seen some books that will slide in the case a tiny bit. Has anyone else seen this?
I've seen this quite a bit on the early issues that are 9.8s. The thicker stock showing a lot of color loss running the spine I'd say it's more from people opening them flat and closing them repeatedly from reading.

Issue 94 convention sketch is limited to 200.....or at least that what I hear.
CGC has 173 graded...really? What are the odds of that. The last 90 day on e-bay has had more than a few raws posted. Its my understanding that all employees at image get comp copies. One X employee who claimed to be a low level employee said he had been handed 4 copies of the unsighted Lucille and two blank hero covers. And he said he never even asked for any. My mind can only wonder is you asked for more, what you could get.
Sorry about poor grammar and spelling......NJ ranks low in public school tests
I personally graded about 40 copies. It does not surprise me that such a high percentage have been graded. Low print run that was expensive fast and on a few radars. I was at the show and posted a pic of my initial submission.
+1 I remember the first 9.9 universal of that book sold for around $1800 That book was hot when it came out, and right in the middle of the prices really starting to go up

A group shot of your 9.9's and 10.0's would be quite a sight
One picture I never got around to taking

wow, im still top 20?
Yep!!
There's a lot of members with sets, that I have never heard of. How come they don't participate in forum conversations? Weird.
I do....and without the help of Doug,Chang and other boardies I would have no set to speak of...Thank you guys.
Oh yeah and the over priced ones I get on ebay. Thanks a lot ebay for your help too.
Your set is by far the most awesome set put together I'm happy to know that my books are with someone who truly WD A group shot of your 9.9's and 10.0's would be quite a sight
I still think you should register a 1-48 set, you'll own that one forever

what about those Weekly's?
It's all I have left
well, when you're ready to rip the rest of that band-aid off, please let me know
(i have both #1's, so you can still hang on to those)
Those are mine
I called him out last year and told him I was gunning for dethroning his Weekly set in time for the 2013 registry awards. How many Weeklys did I buy in that time period? None.
Me and my big mouth
Jim
well Jim, if it brings you back into the WD game, then i will gladly step aside
I shall never relinquish my grasp upon the Weekly registry set
You never know who might be sneaking up on you......

Holy carp, that ended low. I stopped watching it because I didn't think I had a chance to win it.
You win some, you lose some. I thought I'd get the usual $500+/- on that issue. I was very surprised to see the final price this morning. I wouldn't be surprised to see one listed in a week or two that goes for $500
Now I'm very curious how my other auctions will do, that are ending soon
The old $0.99 starting auction may have backfired for me this time
Why didn't you offer these on the boards, while I was buying 9.8's from you?
I did I had a sales thread up with all the 9.9's I currently have on auction. Had plenty of views and responses, but no one made any offers
