  3. I recently purchased small collection of DC black label books on ebay. The seller obviously took a particular interest in purchasing great condition books and really appears that he never read them. I have purchased books listed as NM and though grading is subjective I have rarely purchased any raw books that are spot on NM/NM+ condition. The seller actually used gemini mailers and taped the bagged and boarded books with blue painters tape individually to keep them from shifting. he took great care to ensure that i would receive them in optimal shape and i was not disappointed. I received comics with this collection as well but am looking to sell the black label oversized titles as sets books will be packaged in the Gemini mailers and placed inside a flat rate mailing envelope for quantities up to 6 books @ a cost of $7.00 As always first trumps any PM offers. Pay pal goods and services only and payment is expected within 3 das of sale. Thanks for your interest. 4. Saw this listed on ebay and thought i'd share https://www.ebay.com/itm/Huge-Collection-of-Comic-Books-Big-Variety-of-Titles-Plus-Pops-Bags-Boards/143738950128 since i am in the process of downsizing my collection have no intention of bidding myself, but wanted to hear what others think of a purchase like this
  5. The other issue is there is nothing saying that all 60 boxes are comic books. Funny books, picture books are in the title along with comic books. There are not 60 boxes pictured either so how can you know what you are bidding on.....just sayin’
  6. James great detective work who says the extra time we have online during the pandemic can’t be put to good use
  7. Not that I’m going to be the one to place any bids on this but it would kind of be interesting to see how this plays out for the “winner” of this auction.
  8. With the exception of the questions related to the hulks and action comics wonder if anyone has asked the seller if there are 60 boxes of comic books picture books, funny books etc are not necessarily all comic books just wondering??
  9. Ok that may offer some protection for the buyer however if the seller is not forthcoming on the hulk 1-6 and a person decides to bid on the collection and receives all the books pictured including the hulks wouldn’t the seller have an argument that “I never said they were original’s or complete” and possibly ebay would find in favor of the seller as they shipped out exactly what was pictured??? Just wondering
  10. kav better question is has any member placed a bid on the off chance that it may be legit??? last i looked $8k + damn!!!
  11. Parusing Ebay I came across this auction. Wondering if anyone else has this one on their watch list?? https://www.ebay.com/itm/60-Boxes-of-old-Picture-Books-Comic-Books-Cartoon-Books-Funnies/193648102906?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 part of the description: I recognized a few characters. There are a bunch of old Thors, Iron Men, and there was a box of old Hulks (I loved Lou Farigno!) - Those seem to stop at 6 and start again over 100. I looked for the rest but couldn’t find them anywhere. They were all in the one box. (really you dont know anything about comic books but you know enough to include pics of hulk 1-6 with a great looking copy of issue #1) I pulled out a few from the boxes for photos. Everything in these photos is guaranteed to be in the boxes. I packed everything up after taking these pictures so please don’t ask for more. (I'm sure no one wants to ask for additional information about the hulk #1) Please feel free to give your thoughts
  12. 1974 buffalo ny comic con. Phil Sueling show if i remember correctly. Val Mayerick was the guest of honor I think. A seller had 5 AF 15's for sale for 125-$150 each............at 17 years old probably brought $20 me to spend (so $100+ was out of my price range) I remember a table of creepy magazines medium stack of issue #1, I believe i purchased a MOnster world #1, Mole people #1 and super duck (random issus) at this show..... still a great time..........ah memories!!!!
  13. quick payment excellent communication, recommended buyer thanks
  14. going thru ebay and came across this Gem of a listing by a very well respected (by some) Comic book company https://www.ebay.com/itm/SHOWCASE-1956-Series-SHOWCASE-PRESENTS-DC-8-Fine-Comics-Book/303244585374?hash=item469ac9299e:g:Cj0AAOSw5SNdR-J1 not bad looking at first glance then I checked out the description and read An important note: the cover photo of the item shown in this listing, is not a scan of the actual item. for 14k you would expect that a company that states: We stock over eight million comics and books would have the time to at least take some actual scans of the book since it is raw . Hard to believe that a company that large could be that lazy and gets my come on man really award for tonight. I'm sure there are more out there but wanted to share and hear what others have to say.
  15. i apologize if in am coming across as a whiner. I know you are doing the best you can and i meant no disrespect. I am not a high end purchaser by any stretch of the imagination and spend most of my time digging thru dollar boxes looking for stuff I can flip. My normal routine is to take a slow walk around the show for a short period of time and say hello to vendors I know and other attendees that i am familiar with. Then go to dealers that have stuff i have interest in. For me this used to be an all day affair and an hour is nowhere close to what i would be happy with. Thanks but I'll wait until things are a bit closer to normal.
  16. Ok so I can’t spend 2 hrs at the con 1hr on each side still 7 1/2 minutes per vendor still seems pointless. Are outdoor events still under the same restrictions?? Why wouldn’t a savvy promoter try to link with a flea market location or a outdoor drive in theatre to try to put on something resembling a real comic con???
