  1. New on the census to me. I wonder if this is the copy Rick sold over a year ago. That is a very soft 9.0 compared to the others. Look at that crease in the top left corner/edge. The spine dings are fine, but how does a book get a 9.0 with all of that top edge damage? That wear on the top left corner/edge as you mention is a bit much. Hard to say if one can only examine it like the Heritage scans. Wow, still no SC22 in 9.2 yet... I know people say it all the time but it really does seem that CGC has gotten softer at the upper tiers. 2 examples that just stuck out to me recently are the 9.4 X-Men 1 that Clink has up right now for auction. Also if you think this 9.0 Showcase 22 looks bad (and it does look bad with that wear at the ULFC) check out the Twin Cities Action 252 9.0. For my book not better then an 8.0. http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7033&Lot_No=91002 I agree on a personal grading basis, but since I have had plenty of similar books come back as 8.5 I would have put it there instead on a CGC basis. The damage along the top edge of that new 9.0 SC #22 looks the same as a couple of 7.5s I have owned in the past......... The Action 252 is a perfect example of a gift grade. The new SC22 9.0 has bright colors and decent centering but there is a printing defect on the right side green spot under the "comic code". Shall one say " a strong 8.5 in a 9.0 holder" on a good day. The twin cities x-men 7 9.0 is also a gift grade.
