  1. He's a racist. I'm sure there are other reasons as well. +1. And he spams the boards.
  2. If there's any hope, I suspect it will be in newsstand versions...... Why? I always thought that newsstand versions were tougher to find in higher grades thus (sometimes) more desirable. Because this is a print-run wide phenomenon, and when they changed the plates for the newsstand printing, they have a chance to fix whatever's causing the problem in the run. That is why you will almost never find a Cap #241 Direct Market without a printer's crease in the lower right corner, and you will also almost never find a Cap #241 newsstand WITH a printer's crease in that same corner. The problem was fixed in between the runs. Thus, if there's any hope, it will be in the newsstand version.... Ahh, I see. That makes sense. So, was today's experience with RMA a net positive,or net negative? Please drop off your survey on the way out. Not much, at this point. The newsstand was still chugging along. No. There's no premium either way at the moment. The two balance each other out. Don't know what you mean by that exactly. I have nothing against you. Thanks for the information all the same. (thumbs u

Is there a difference in the print runs between the direct and newsstand? Do you think that a Wolvie #35 direct 9.8 would realize more then a Wolvie newsstand 9.8?

  5. Out of curiosity, are the foreigns hard to find in high grade, or are you just seeking completion?
  6. My copy has only one stress line. Both front & back cover look pretty good Does it break color?
  7. I call wildly_fanciful_statement. Spider-Man is an iconic, high-profile character whose appeal has been mainstream for at least 30 years. I find it hard to believe that even someone who knows nothing at all about comics or comic book subculture would look at a cover that says 'Introducing Spider-Man' and not question whether if it had any value outside of yard sale filler. All depends where you are. The mess people throw away in the garbage where I live is insane. Then again, my town is split into two. One half is pelham(average 500k-700k homes and that's where I live) and the other half is the manor(2 mill and up homes). The mess the people in the manor throw away on bulk garbage nights is insane. I always go through the manor on my way to work when its bulk garbage that morning. You would be amazed at what people don't care about. So what do you pick out?
  8. That's pretty sweet! Nice deal. What does your tattoo say?
  9. I know where you got that one. (thumbs u Great book!
  10. Too kind sir. I'm trying to sketch more often. Anyone have any advice?
  11. Here is the extent of my abilities. Took me longer then I'd care to admit. Damn, straight lines wouldn't match up.
  12. Sweet books. Where did you meet him anyways? So that's why you wanted the Richard Rae thread. Did Mike comment on the incident? I remember reading the thread shortly after joining the boards and saw his one post in it, where he was setting the record straight in terms of his involvement, which of course he wasn't actually involved. Mike is always honest and upfront that the art he's selling is a light box recreation of a Jack Kirby drawing that he [Mike] inked. Rae was passing them off as something Kirby actually held in his hands and pencilled. Anyway, in his post he closed saying where he lives and it's the same town where I live. I recently was in a book store that sells old comics in a back room and the owner pointed out a TB he had on a shelf that was signed by Mike, and basically reminded me about his living here. I finally looked him up on the web and found his website. I contacted him a few weeks ago and yesterday we met at his home/studio. Great guy Yeah, I remember reading that thread it was a mess. Wow, what a great opportunity! You got some sweet sketches.
