Why the cover up of that Avengers 1 label? Is that a PGX label I see hiding under there?

 

Oh and the Avengers 1 is slabbed by the mess company and will be cracked next month at Chicago for a real grade after Stan signs it.

I´m the person you are speaking about in this post. First of all I want to tell you that I´m not scammer, all the contrary, I´m a comic book lover since 30 years ago, and I would never do anything like that, I´m and have been a honest person all my life. Well I´ll begin with a chronology of the facts.

Taking a look at MC web page I detected the book in question, Superman #1 cgc 6.0, restored, and I decided to purchase it, it had a good price, but not to hold it, but to make some business, I have a couple of costumers, (friends all of them), that offered me more than I have paid. But when I received it, and I saw that it was a fantastic copy, I said -"what the heck,I´m gonna offer it to the best dealers", in order to get more money, or preferably books, that is what I´m always looking for. So I offered it to 3 dealers, but their offers didn´t convince me, so finally I sold it to one of those friends, ( of course, as soon as I detected what has happening I contacted him and gave him his money back, the book is on its way to my home, and of course that friend, that trust me blindly, is following all these, step by step).

I have contacted twice MC in order to clear this, but until now no answer, but you can be sure that I will clear all this mess, I want my name deleted from this message board, but I´m not gonna ask to delete it until I have cleared my name, then I´ll ask him to delete it, and if he is a honest person, I think he is, he will delete it, but until I have cleared it all I´m not gonna ask. Finally some rhetorics questions.

if I wanted to scam anybody would I have offerd it to the best dealers?I think not, I would have offered to a not expert person.

If I wanted to scam anybody would I have written e-mails from my personal address, with my real name?would I have told vintagecomics to check MC about the book and have told him my Ebay nick??

Wrong place to ask maybe? I have a raw copy as well that I posted in the PGM board. Came up from 5.0 to 6.0 with a heavy lean toward 5.5.

I would like to take advantage of the craze and sell it since I now have my SS copy. It seems raw in that condition is going for about $200 on ebay. I am always weary of selling there because I have been burned in the past so I have considered offering it here. Thought I might try to help out fellow boardies. You think $150 is fair for the boards or should I just list it on ebay? Would you list it at a 5 day auction? Starting price $.99? I am always nervous to sell big books there because I only have a 69 feeback so far.

I will post a scan tonight, but I just got a sweet copy about a month ago via trade. Got myself a 9.0 white pager Jim Starlin SS!

Now to scan and sell my raw copy. I think it is 7.5 / 8.0 cusp about 6.0. Ebay, here I come!

On a side note, I have a 9.6 WP special edition 1 and raw 2-5 and a couple other Tick books (VF/NM to NM) I have been toying around listing on the boards for $250. Does anyone think there will be interest there?

Someone got an amazing deal the other night on Ebay winning a Tick Special 1 CGC 9.6 for $112.

I will also (shamefully) admit that I enjoyed SW2, BUT it was the very first thing I read in comics ever. Yes, and I still continued to buy and read after that.

All time favorite line from that series is when the Beyonder first reveals himself to Peter Parker after reading his thoughts and asks him "Is hallucinating why there is eating?"

A buddy of mine and myself shared that line for many years after as a private joke between us.

The series did lead me to Secret Wars 1 which was absolutely awesome. It was the reason why I thought and still think to this day that Dr. Doom is the most awesome villain ever.

When everyone else was thinking about winning the Beyonder's prize, Doom was thinking about how to steal the Beyonder's power.

Didn't want to create a whole thread for this, but I was excited that I finally completed my X-Men run this week! There are some bronze age books in there, but since my last book was a silver I thought this was the right place to post!

I guess now begins the long process to upgrade?

It fluctuates a lot. The base is down to about 3,000 books now but it was recently double that.

I have been doing a lot of "soul searching" and have decided to narrow the collection down to about 1,000 books which would include only the runs of stuff I really care about.

That would leave me with mainly keys and a full run of X-Men up to issue 300 something.

I still haven't decided if I want to get rid of my full runs of Spawn and Silver Surfer Vol. 3. Neither is really worth anything or ever will be, but those are two of the core collections that really drove me into everything else I have gotten into. Spawn is still on going and I plan to keep buying them (recently got much better).

So, I am rambling but part of me wants to really purge and get down to just the basics. It is really hard getting rid of anything, but the more I get rid of stuff the more I start thinking I should continue to purge!

Getting back my sweet copy of Journey 83 this week. I got the .5! but expected...

Still waiting on grades on ASM 129, Tick 1 Special Edition, and a couple variant covers hoping to get the 9.8 on...
