So, for Ditko pencils and inks from the 60's-80's, you'd most likely be looking at the Charlton horror stuff (possibly a decent horror cover), Shade the Changing Man pages, perhaps a Mr. A page or a Question page.  Anything else that may be included for consideration?  I think a page from the Warren stuff would be above your budget.

Those really are what I'm angling for, especially the Charlton horror.  Thanks for making it clear for me.

Charlton, 1966, but Ditko pencils only.

I'll be consigning this one with Mitch, if it's of possible interest to you, but won't be cheap.

Another 1966 Ditko cover to go on consignment with Mitch.  Again, Ditko pencils only.

That Captain Atom cover is quite nice. Ditko's style wasnt lost in Rocke's inks. But I'm sure that's a 5 figure piece which is more than I can do.

  3. My very first purchase off of eBay was the original Amazing Spider-man #1. I had just worked all summer of 1998 saving money for my freshman year of college when lo and behold I discovered eBay. The issue was purported to be in Very Fine condition and starting bid was $1,900. After some serious consideration and discussion with my two best friends, I took the plunge and submitted the winning bid. No Marvel chipping or writing. Really solid book. 3 years later I submitted it to CGC, came back an unrestored 4.0. I treasured it for an additional 3-4 years before selling it for $2,400. The buyer was super pleased and messaged me after receiving it felt it was at least a 5.0. One of my regrets, but at least I owned one.

  4. I grew up with Bagley, Larsen and McFarlane and really enjoyed their takes. But my love for Spidey hit another level when the black and white Marvel Essential books came out. Ditko was the master. After graduating high school in the late 90's, I made an Amazing Spider-man #1 my first purchase off Ebay after saving my pennies all summer (190,000 of them). CGC graded it a very solid 4.0 (no Marvel chipping or missing pieces). Wish I still had it ? But, hey, still have my original Spidey Essentials. Ditko gets my nostalgic vote.
