  2. That's awesome! Coincidentally, O Fortuna is one of my favorite pieces AND propels my favorite scene in one of my favorite movies. So good choice.
  3. Keep doing it and see where it gets you. (thumbs u If I get my 1st strike over that it would be both confusing and entertaining. I wouldn't worry about it.
  4. And if the book value is too low we can always raise it. It also might make sense to offer a few choices like the PIFers do. Just throwin' ideas out there.
  5. Yes. We could figure out when is the best time for everyone. But there would be 24 hours to PM the guesses, so there would be no pressure to get something in right away.
  6. Everyone seems to like contests around here, especially regarding comic books. I've been thinking about ways to make "Guess That Comic Book" more interesting. How about? 1) A comic book "buy in" to participate. First contest would be an inexpensive comic book of any value (maybe one to two dollars?) - we could increase the value in subsequent contests if desired. Participants post their book with a pic and agree to ship it to the winner. First class shipping in a manilla envelope with two pieces of cardboard is only a couple bucks, so total entry fee on this first contest would be around three or four dollars. 2) The contest would involve 10 books. The first round of clues would be posted and participants would have 24 hours to PM me the results. This way speed and availability aren't a factor. Participants make one guess per round, per book. PM Example Book 1, Round 1 - Your guess Book 2, Round 1 - Your guess etc. Book 10, Round 1 - Your guess 3) All correct guesses would be posted and each participant with the correct guess would score a point. 4) All unsolved books would go to the next round. New clues would be posted. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until all books are solved. 5) Contest winner is the participant with the most points at the end. If there is a tie, additional books would be used in "Sudden Death Overtime." Thoughts? Please discuss. Here is a poll to see if there's any interest. There's not a ton of visibility here in the journal forum so I'll likely have to bump this for a while.
  7. Sorry to hear about the shipping issues. This is the reason many people won't ship internationally. Unfortunately, unless this guy decides to be super nice to you, he's entitled to 100% of his money back. Sellers are responsible for getting the book to the buyer, regardless of the choice or fault of shipping method.
  8. Please attach the 'gooble gobble one of us' video to your nomination for it to be official.
  9. I'm nominating Solarcadet, Kav, Aunt Agatha, TrippyMcSkippy, Symbiotic, Mmehdy and Beige. For the record, Kav is my 1st pick.
