Everyone seems to like contests around here, especially regarding comic books. I've been thinking about ways to make "Guess That Comic Book" more interesting.
How about?
1) A comic book "buy in" to participate. First contest would be an inexpensive comic book of any value (maybe one to two dollars?) - we could increase the value in subsequent contests if desired. Participants post their book with a pic and agree to ship it to the winner. First class shipping in a manilla envelope with two pieces of cardboard is only a couple bucks, so total entry fee on this first contest would be around three or four dollars.
2) The contest would involve 10 books. The first round of clues would be posted and participants would have 24 hours to PM me the results. This way speed and availability aren't a factor. Participants make one guess per round, per book.
PM Example
Book 1, Round 1 - Your guess
Book 2, Round 1 - Your guess
etc.
Book 10, Round 1 - Your guess
3) All correct guesses would be posted and each participant with the correct guess would score a point.
4) All unsolved books would go to the next round. New clues would be posted. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until all books are solved.
5) Contest winner is the participant with the most points at the end. If there is a tie, additional books would be used in "Sudden Death Overtime."
Thoughts? Please discuss.
Here is a poll to see if there's any interest. There's not a ton of visibility here in the journal forum so I'll likely have to bump this for a while.
