    One Man Comic Business

General update. I've definitely slowed down of late. At lease as far as number of trips to buy collections and sales threads. I think the sales threads on the boards are slower too but so is ebay for anything other than key books. Got a new job with better pay and a little worse hours, so time spent to make comic income is not as important. Plus other than some of the very best runs, I really don't read modern books and the longer that goes on, the less excited I get about the goings on in comicbook land. Still, a good read like SAGA and others are a ton of fun. I'll admit to being a little jaded about the comic book movies. At least Marvel and DC. Decent entertainment but only about an inch deep for my tastes. Deadpool and the original Ironman being the exceptions. TV on the otherhand: (Umbrella Academy, The Boys) is pretty awesome. And I still have a large collection to organize and have sales threads - about 20 short boxes.. But I am getting to where I'm happy to sell in bulk even on $3-$10 books Ed

I put in ad in for comics and punk rock items and got a call on the later. Great guy around 70 years old who was into alternative stuff from the late 60s to the late 70s. Extensive album collection mostly focused on british alternative. Clash, Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello. Also Ramones, and things like that. Lots of buttons and concert shirts too. I picked up these concert shirts which are pretty valuable and cool.

Forgot to update. This was mostly cartoon books with a few very low grade super hero books. Toys were decent too. Two train sets, and some other laboratory type items that sold pretty well. It was fun.
  8. Look up "currugated" or "box" company in Google maps and buy in bulk from them. You can usually get a box for 25-35 cents each. I buy 100 boxes (12x9x3) and 200 pre cut flats (8/3/4 x 11 3/4) for $40 from a small local shop, and I live in a small town.. I use crumpled newspaper as filler. Go to trophy stores and you can get huge amounts of bubble wrap and ghost turds for free. A pain to store though unless you have good throughput. Buy rolls of 6 clear packing tape for pretty cheap online or at Staples. Don't go uber cheap as it can tear badly. So all in you can have a box, 2 flats, tape and cushion for under 50 cents per order. Ed
  9. And that's it. I'll look to send out invoices tomorrow.
