  1. Nice pickup. I can't wait for thrift-sale season to go full swing. I love stopping and looking through stuff, never knowing what's around the next corner. I will be stopping at quite a few this year, I'm sure.

I try to make every T-sale hopeful by not doing a landscape glance at everything. I think that NOT knowing is the best part, and way more entertaining :)

  2. Got my 3 ASM books today from ft88. They look completely as described, and he shipped them promptly.

Thanks alot for the deal man!

  3. Smarter people than me, please comment on the zombie in the field? Does it symbolize man's inhumanity to man? [that's a waaaaayyy inside joke btw]

I don't know if I'm right, but I thought it gave a sense of being alone. Shane is pretty alone in his views on everything in the new world, just like the zombie was alone in the field.

Rick just told him that its his wife, son and child, so he doesn't even have that to hang on to. Hes walking alone in a world of the dead, just like the zombie in the field.

  4. Man this book is pretty freaking cool! I bought the first two trades (issues 1-10) with a christmas gift card. I've seen alot of people preach Chew here on the forums, so I decided to grab it. I'm so glad I did, I've blown right through both of them!

I started collecting again this spring after ~12 years, rebuilding(boringly) my ASM run. Its always a pain to finish a comic in one read. I find myself setting it down after 2-3 pages. Not with Chew, oh no. It had my attention from the start, and still has it. Its just such an oddball idea, that snags you in right away.

Some people here praise the art as amazing, others can't stand it. When I started reading I was in the middle. It was kinda cool, kinda goofy. But then I started really looking at all the lines, and all the facial expressions and body language of the characters. The backgrounds of the scenes. The colours, the pacing, and of course as far as writing goes... the comedy :) I can't wait to see Tony's next "snack." Whats gonna happen? I couldn't even imagine.... I haven't read alot of the plot lines, just peoples opinions.

Man I am infatuated with this book. I'm gonna pick up the next 5 issues really soon.... Well anyhow, thats my take on it, and now I'm gonna read the last installation in my hands, issue #10.

Have a great day guys, and thanks for keeping this thread going, so a guy like me had a chance to see it!

    Cheers

  5. Hi guys, heres some stuff I have on hand in a little bound sketchbook. Id doesn't epitomize my art style, but is what I have here next to the scanner. some other time I may scan some other pieces which are different from these.

Its not my total style, but does some up some aspects.
