  1. Here is a bad photo of my latest CGC comic book, which was delivered today. I added my forum name to the upper-left hand corner, in case the comic book "accidentally" ends up on eBay. Took me forever to find a nice copy. I could not justify putting out the big bucks for the beautiful Gaines File Copy on CL. I also have a beater reader copy that I bought in 1974. This is my favorite EC cover of all time and my favorite Wood cover.
  2. Russ Heath is a great artist and a nice guy. I purchased the recreation from Steve Wyatt, who is Russ's contact for commissions. I saw the recreation at 2010 SDCC and bought it right away. Other than the Haunted tank covers, this is my favorite Russ Heath Cover.
  3. Wow, you guys have some impressive high grade Timelys. Here is my latest purchase, which has a dirty spine. I love the Captain America flying in the air covers.
  4. One of my favorites. Underbidder on a Gaines copy in the last C-Link auction. It went for a big price. I was in third place at $1202. The Gaines 9.0 went for a whopping $1605. I have a beaten up copy and a nice copy. Was hoping for a Gaines copy, but not at twice guide. I noticed that there are not very many copies of this particular Weird Science around on either CL nor Metro.
  5. G.A.tor, I have a page count question for you regarding Captain America Comics #37. According to the Grand Comics Database, there should be 60 pages total. I looked at my copy and noticed that there were 16 pages + front cover up to the centerfold and 12 pages + back cover from the centerfold ( for a total of (16+1+12+1)*2 = 60 pages). So four of the pages after the centerfold were cut. Is this common for Captain America Golden Age? Thanks!
  6. One of my favs of the Torch run. Congrats Jim (thumbs u +1 +2 Nice find. Great torch cover. Who can resist an asbestos lady story? +3 Asbestos Lady must be the mother of Asbestos Man, who fought Johnny Storm in Strange Tales #111.
  7. Doll Man doesn't get much love around here. But inside this issue My favorite Bill Ward headlights page.
  8. Congratulations! Look for my avatar in there.
  9. My favorite The Spider story. Every Spider storyline is bloody and unbelievable, but this one is among the very best. My favorite Shadow cover.
  10. Your Bats 1 looks really nice. Mine has Jerry Robinson's fingerprints all over. Love your avatar too. I took mine out of the mylar and read it.
  11. My big SDCC buy from Nadia and Joe Mannarino of All Star Auctions. The spline completely split, but Batman #1 is mine! I was walking by the All Star Auctions booth and struck up a conversation with Nadia. After walking around the con, I decided to make the purchase. This comic comes from the Jerry Robinson collection. In fact, he autographed the first page on the lower right hand corner. The comic book is raw, not slabbed as you can see. My precious!
  12. Very nice! Notice the back of Tec 28, the left-hand side of the firecracker list, eighth item. My, how times have changed. I was checking to see if any M80s were on the firecracker list.
  13. Didn't Metropolis have a heavily restored Cap 1 4.0 for 8K before SDCC? Its gone now.
  14. Not as cool as many of your comics, but here is one of mine just bought off eBay.
